Advanced messaging stopped working 12/23/23

Advanced messaging across our 4 family phones has had some ups and downs. Now the S9+ is saying "Advanced Messaging isn't supported by this SIM card." That is in group texts that were active just 5 days ago. I've reset the phone, reset Chat settings, cleared cache, I'm out of options. Why would a SIM card stop supporting the function?

Yep. 

S22 Ultra:

"Advanced messaging isn't supported by this sim card"

Started a few days ago.

Probably prepping a roll-out to start charging for it.

Hello, Big_ed075, thanks for reaching out in reference to Advanced Messaging. Are you getting this error on all four lines on your account? Is your phone software up to date at the moment?

Only stopped on one phone. Yes all software versions are updated.

Big_ed075, thank you for this info. Have you attempted to turn off Advanced Messaging to then turn it back on? Please do the following: 

 

From the Messages settings screen, select Advanced Messaging > Advanced Messaging switch.

We appreciate the clarification. Is this issue only happening with group messages? If this is only affecting one device, is it possible that you will need to change your SIM.
