Advised by Verizon Store not to use Hotspot feature on S10 as it will cause battery bulge and overheat

I am a new customer to Verizon, 20 year customer of USCC prior to changing to Verizon.

During the process of getting setup with Verizon at our local store we were told not to use our phone's hotspot feature for anything more than a few minutes.   They said by using the hotspot for long periods will cause the battery to overheat and bulge.  They also told us that by doing so it would void the phone warranty.

I find it hard to believe that Samsung would add this feature to their device knowing there is the potential to destroy the phone and worse cause a safety issue.

Could anyone speak to the truth of what we were told by two of the staff at our local store?

We never want our customers having issues with their phone overheating or the battery bulging.  Let’s get to the bottom of this.  A private message has been sent to assist you further.
