After OS upgrade on my Verizon Galaxy S23  256 gig, many apps including Samsungs keyboard and play store keep crashing.   Most frequent, (continuous in the background), crash is:

txpoweradmin has stopped

Google play crashes shortly after I open it.  Galaxy Store won't open.  I had no keyboard until I disabled Samsung's I had been using and switched to gboard.  I think I will likely have to factory reset the device.

It was this Software update that broke everything:

Ooh this is very bad, I just read in another post, that the update had not arrived because there was no compatibility with Verizon services and apps, but now that it has arrived, it turns out that in the same way, there is no compatibility.

So, Verizon will say it's Samsung's fault and Samsung will say it's the carrier's fault, but in the end, we, the users, end up suffering from their bad decisions.

I found that messaging Verizon through FB Messenger worked best:

https://www.messenger.com/t/12442500122

https://www.facebook.com/verizon/

However in the end they did punt me to Samsung.  Samsungs chat based support interface kinda worked, but their would be long delays, lots of repeating, and if I didn't respond quickly after the long delay it would start over.  In the end they punted to

https://www.ubreakifix.com/

and it sounded like they were just going to do a factory reset, which I can do myself.

So I am going through altenate backup methods, Smart Switch fails everything I attempt with it, it has a file browser but doesn't seem to let me use it to copy/cut and paste files.

I figured out that deep links to Galaxy Store pages stil work, so I can update apps that way.

Screenshots stopped working for a bit, restart fixed that though.

My theory is that apps that try to view the phone's app list crash, unless they are prepared to catch an exception there.

The root crash seems to be:

Caused by: android.os.DeadObjectException: Transaction failed on small parcel; remote process probably died, but this could also be caused by running out of binder buffer space

Worst is in  java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to create service vendor.qti.data.txpwradmin.StxPwrService: android.os.BadParcelableException: Failure retrieving array; only received 679 of 789

I'm gonna play around with ADB to try to disable that, it's continuously crashing and eating battery.

I would suggest a complete reset and see if that fixes the issue.. If not it may need to be exchanged. Let me know if this helps.

Yes that's my plan, but Smart Switch freezes when I try, and android file transfer fails to connect:

https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

I downloaded the free open source Filezilla from it's website and am trying to FTP files from my phone to my macbook.
