Got the email today. As of 1/5/17, the note 7 will be deas and buried. This sucks as there still is no comparable phone to switch to. No annual upgrade optoons and I even had a customer service person lie to me online last night about the $15/month S7 Edge plan. According to the rep, I could upgrade after a year on the $15/month S7 Edge program. No payoff required. There is no way Verizon or Samsung is letting that happen. So, as of 1/5/17, I guess Verizon drops my line and I drop Verizon.
Try 4 days. According to the samsung site, they will be pushing the update through starting on the 19th.
VzW isn't pushing the update until 1/5/17:
"Samsung will be releasing a Note7 software update on December 19. This update prevents the device from charging and eliminates the ability for it to work as a mobile device. Verizon will not be pushing this software update to your device until January 5, 2017. We want to make sure you can contact family, first responders, and emergency medical professionals during the holiday travel season. However, we urge you to stop using your Note7, upgrade it to another device, and return the Note7 to us."
