I somehow can't silence my phone anymore, the only option is to put it on vibrate.

Go to ->Settings->Sound Settings->Vibrate. Here are the options you should see AlwaysNeverOnly in silent modeOnly when not in silent mode

I had already set "Vibrate" to "Only when not in Silent" so my "Silent' always was "Silent." Changed that setting to "Only in Silent Mode" found that the silent was really "Vibrate." I have changed it back so silent is "Silent." (Stock Froyo does have those options. )

Yes for some reason Froyo did away with it(at least on volume button). I suggest taking a look in the Market might find something there.

Anyone else lost the "silent" phone ring option after Froyo 2.2 update?

Yes! incredibly annoying. We need to get this back. I am also experiencing problems with the phone not ringing at times and then I see I missed a call when the phone was 2 feet away from me.
