I have the exact same issue. Randomly anywhere I go it could happen at any time. Sometimes restarting the phone fixes it but sometimes it doesn't. Data, mms/sms, even calls through a burner number app work fine.
Noticed when I press send to dial a number the line never hooks a dial tone, I lose my service bars, and then it will auto disconnect the call without even trying after a bit. Then the service bars will fluctuate between 2 bar LTE/LTE+ or a circle with a slash through it for a bit.
I've spoken to 8 Verizon reps in the last week and none of them can fix it after doing a resync to my phone. I'm getting tired of it. No one can fix it and everyone reads the same flow chart that says it's the phone NOT the verizon network. I have an s7 edge international.
It was mentioned in a thread on reddit about this that because Verizon got rid of their 3G network December 31st, That phones are POSSIBLY still trying to connect to CDMA for making and receiving calls, and Verizon has no idea how to fix this other than forcing people to upgrade to a new device.
