Backup Assistant works sporadically at best. Verizon has had problems with BA for months. One of these days they will fix it........Maybe....But I wouldn't hold my breath. Try this. Make one new contact in your phone that isn't on your web site list and then sync from your phone instead of from the web site. When I have done this, it syncs to Verizon and corrects my contacts. I was having a similar issue, except my phone was telling me my PIN was wrong, even though I was reading it directly from the MyVerizon site.
If you log into MyVerizon, you should be able to export your contacts to your email as a CSV. Then access your email from your phone, and import the file. This worked for me.
