Hello,
does anyone have a way for me to have a camera shortcut for my lock screen? I don't want to unlock my phone to use my camera. But i can't find the shortcut tips for it. I tried clicking on lock screen and clicked lock screen widgets, but the " favorite apps or camera" is faded and i can't turn it on. Please help me.
thanks,

From an article by Alex Dobie over at Android Central about putting shortcuts on the lock screen
"From the Settings app, go to My device > Lock screen and enable "Shortcuts." From there you can customize which shortcut icons are shown down below on the lock screen, and loading one of these apps up is a simple as dragging it upwards. Naturally, one of the defaults is the camera app."
Hope this helps

I just figured out that you can only enable that if you do not have security on it. When I took off my pattern lock, the camera settings under lock screen are no longer gray. To use it you touch the camera icon and drag it from right to left.

I have the same problem. I disabled my password, the phone is no longer locked. However, when I go to Lock screen widgets Favorite apps or Camera is still greyed out, unavailable. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

With Swipe as your lock screen, turn (check box) Multiple Widgets under the Lock Screen area of the Settings. Then the Camera option is available.

Ann154, thanks for the help.
What I really want is too keep the phone password protected but have the camera available without having to enter the password. It appears you can have it one way or the other, but not both.

That is my assessment too.
Another great option that will allow both is Widget Locker from the Play Store. I don't use it on the S4, but I love it on my Galaxy Nexus.

I'll check Widget Locker out. Thanks again!
