Did your USB settings change? It should be set to MASS STORAGE. Go to SETTINGS | USB SETTINGS , and it should be set there. I have a MacBook Pro also, and it works fine, I have to wait a minute or so for it to work. When you plug it in, does it prompt you on your phone to have it connect?

USB setting is on MASS STORAGE. And yes I get a prompt on the phone to connect (android icon with button to connect).

Sometimes it shows up in devices on the sidebar. When I attempt to use it I get a message that the device was ejected improperly, and the drive disappears.Again, I've attempted this on my iMac and a friends PC and got the same results.

Thank you in advance for any advice in this matter.

Thanks

Are you using the USB cable that came with the phone, or another cable? Try using the factory cable that came with the phone if you are not.

Yes, I am using the original USB cable the came with the phone.

I've tried a USB cable used also to charge my phone and the results are the same.

I use an external Hard drive. When I plug in the HDD it is noticed by my MBP.

This is what makes me know its the phone.
