Charged for the "free" tablet promotion.

Gingermonkey104

I recently went to go open a new line with verizon, and upgrade my phone. The rep had said that I also qualify for a free tablet, I knew that there was a monthly service charge when I checked out. The problem comes when I look at my first bill breakdown and there is also a charge for FOR THE DEVICE ITSELF. Is this normal? I want to make it clear that I am fine with the monthly service charge, but after asking MULTIPLE times if I was paying for the device itself and being told no, I am extremely disappointed and feel deceived. My family has been with verizon for 20+ years and we will all very quickly consider switching if not rectified.

I can't guarantee this, but I had a very similar question that Verizon went above and beyond to solve it. I recommend private messaging: "vzw_customer_support" and writing out all the expectations that the salesman gave you and what was done in a chronological story and asking for their assistance. They were extremely helpful to me after I had already been on the phone for over 12 hours trying to get it fixed.

Hope this isn't a case of someone trying to offer you 2 different promotions simultaneously.  Discounts and promos cannot be stacked. ๐Ÿ˜ž

We definitely value your families 20+ years with us, Gingermonkey104. I know I would be concerned if the device charge was still showing up on my bill after a free tablet promotion. Normally, promotional credits to offset that charge can take 1-2 billing cycles to start. If this period of time has passed, we can definitely take a look and see what happened with the promotion and help make sure it gets added. How many bill cycles have passed since the tablet line was added?
