The phone has a 3.5 mm jack for a headset. It can be used to listen to music, or if the headset has a microphone it can be used for conversing on the phone. My car has a Bluetooth connection for use in making telephone calls, but the car's media center does not have the ability to connect via Bluetooth. It does have an AUX input. Therefore, in my car I listen to music via the phone's 3.5 mm jack to the car's AUX input. At the same time the phone is available via the Bluetooth connection. While configured as described I received a call. I tried to pick it up via the Bluetooth connection but was unable to answer it. Because the phone detected a connector in the 3.5 mm jack, it routed the call through that jack as if a headset and microphone were attached, rendering the Bluetooth useless. After pulling the connector out of the phone I was able to connect via Bluetooth. Is there any setting that would command the phone to not use the 3.5 mm jack for calls under that circumstance, instead routing them through the Bluetooth?

No. The hardware overrules the software.
If you have something plugging into the headphone jack, that will override the Bluetooth.

Thanks. At least I know I can stop looking for a setting for this function
