Wow... no more speculation, guesswork, checking to see which way the wind is blowing and all other kinds of unofficial information...
IT'S HERE!
I'll be updating my phone as soon as I get home. (I can't bring my phone into the building that I work in and it's a short ride home, so I'll update it then... )

So one more stupid question: What will this do for video streaming? Will there possibly be a Netflix app (such as the I-phone has) or is that just another pipe dream?

No, but you can download an app called Playon in the android market, but you must have froyo.

I agree wholeheartedly... It would be so much easier for Verizon to allow users to d/l from their website and install it from there, but again you have users who don't how to copy and paste, so this makes the most logical sense however, it can also cause trouble with the servers connecting to the users phone since it will be coming at 3gspeeds which can take sometime depending where you are located at.

it will be staggered, not everyone will get it at once. they stagger all the updates.
there are too many people that have no clue how to even copy a file to the phone, let alone run keis for an update
then add those they may not have high speed(or any internet)

It does not start till the 21st and no telling if you will be one the initial groups that will receive it, they are upgrading in segments, so you might be one of the last, just check every day starting tomorrow

Verizon Wireless will begin pushing Android 2.2, Froyo, to the Samsung Fascinate tomorrow. Enhancements include support for Adobe Flash Player. Customers can visit www.verizonwireless.com/fascinatesupport for more information and download instructions for the software update. Customers will be able to download the update manually starting tomorrow by going to Settings > About Phone > Update Phone.
Thanks

Hmm very interesting, and I know this is NOT the proper forum, but seems kind of like a crappy deal that I have to pay for Netflix and pay again for Playon. I mean I will probably do it until another solution comes along, but still seems crappy. But all and all YIPPY 2.2 FOR MY PHONE IS HERE.

Kies only works on the GSM models, which is why we won't see a Kies rollout for Sprint or VzW, pretty much ever.
