Facebook keeps crashing

I installed the current security patch this morning.  Now, Facebook keeps crashing.  Ive cleared the cache, done a system clean,  uninstalled Facebook and reinstalled it, 8ve powered off and repowered my phone. It still crashes.  What has happened to cause this and how do i correct it?

Same here. Also, my maps is not working with GPS, my volumes are broken. This sucks!

It's never good to see someone experience several issues at once on their device. I want to get you back where you need to be.

 

Are you still experiencing the Facebook crash? There was an issue with a recent application update, but other users are reporting that it has been fixed. Please let us know if you require further assistance with this.

 

As for Maps, I know I rely on them heavily. When did this start occurring? Is your GPS still enabled under Settings > Location?

 

And finally, can you please provide further details regarding your statement that your volume is broken?

As of later in the day, the Facebook app started working correctly.  The next day, Facebook pushed an update to their app.

As of this moment,  I'm having no other issues.

1. Facebook updated recently and is now fixed.

2. My volume is very weak since the update, on headphones using the jack, onboard volume, Bluetooth earpieces, and connected Bluetooth speakers, and does not work at all in Maps.

3. Yes, my location has been on the entire time and approves all apps to use it that need it.

FYI: you can use the 'Facebook Lite' until they figure out what they broke with this release.  It's not a great app or solution, but it appears to work ok....

Right after I posted this went back and tried opening app again. Did the same thing that has been doing. Opening for a second then closing with the message close app or send feedback. Chose close app again. Then I opened Facebook again and now it works. Weird it started working right after I posted comment.

I had the same issue after the System update today.  I went to the app manager and did a force-stop on the facebook app, then went to the Google Play Store and updated the facebook app, and that seems to have solved the problem.

This isn't the experience that we want you to have on your device. Are you having issues with accessing other applications on your phone? Are you able to browse the internet on your phone with no problems? Which make/model phone do you have?

My Maps isn't working correctly now either, since the update. No sound,

even though media volume is on high. It is not finding my current location

properly. Often times it won't show the directions because it cannot find

my current location. I have to stop and enter an address near me.

I'm glad to hear that your app is back up and running. Let's keep digging. When Safe Mode is on, how is the sound? Since Safe Mode prevents third party apps from running, please test with ringtones and notification tones.

My maps and sound seem to work in SafeMode, yet these problems only started immediately after the recent update. I hadn't put any new software on my phone at the time of update.

Although you've started experiencing these issues after the recent software update, Safe Mode allows us to confirm that a 3rd party app might be causing your current issue. Please have in mind that these apps are also updated frequently and might be causing a glitch with your maps app and sound. It's very important that you're able to pin point wat app is causing these problems in order to delete from your device.
