Fascinate problems still after 2nd replacement phone

I am on replacement phone #2. My original phone had problems after a software update. Texts not being received and people reporting they aren't getting mine at times.  Sometimes calls can't be made without powering off and back on.  Force close popping up all day long and emails aren't being sent or received and some were finally being sent after 3 weeks.  Texts that i was sending weren't going out when sent but many hours later and sometimes in the middle of the night so I ended up having to make alot of appologies for that.  I have had several spontaneous factory resets. I also get new email and new text message notices and when I go to look at the email or text there is nothing new. Got a replacement and it had the same problems right from the start. Within days I went back to the verizon store and they arranged another replacement to be sent.  I am having the same problems on the most recent replacement phone.  Now there are particular people who aren't getting some of my texts, they are on the verizon network also. I suspect I will be sending this phone back too but I thoughts I'd check in here to see if anyone has suggestions.

 

Here is what I have tried on all these phones:

Factory reset

use in safe mode

did not install any apps on these phones after factory resets

i have also formated the sd card for good measure

 

 

I haven't even had this phone a year yet but I guess these problems explain why it was so cheap to get.  What else can I try so I can have a fully functioning phone? Does anyone have any suggestions?

  As far as not receiving or sending text messages, I suggest doing a *228 option 2 in your different locations that you use the phone. This has helped my family with text messages not coming/going.

 

 What is the process that is being forced closed? It should tell you what process is having the problem when it shows you that it is doing the force/close.

 

 My only suggestion would be to keep taking it back to the same store when it is having the same issues time and time again, and make sure they document each visit and what they are doing. Speak to the manager, call Verizon tech support, but keep bringing the problems to their attention.

I will try *228 tonight when I leave work.  The force close is with the email.  I can't get it to come up right now because the phone won't send or receive email at the moment.  When it finally decided to try and send or receive the force close will pop up.  I've created and thought I sent about a 6 emails which haven't actually been sent at the moment.  Eventually they will be sent probably, last time this happened it took 3 weeks and they finally were received by the people I was emailing.  I am stopping at the verizon store again tonight.  I just got this phone in July and they keep telling me my only option is to upgrade which I don't have the money for at the moment or continue to receive these replacement phones which I am sure will all have the same problems but I don't have too many options at the moment except leave and go to another carrier when I can afford to get a new phone.

I am on my third and still same issues plus new ones. They want to send me a forth. what should i do.

Fascinate problems still after 4th replacement phone!!

My wife is on her 4th Samsung Fascinate replacement right now. She is so frustrated she can't see straight! I called Verizon and told them we are having all kinds of problems with this one #4 as well and they tell me before doing anything the OS needs to be updated to eliminated that the new OS does not correct the problems. I imagine their solution will be to swap it out yet again!

 

Here are the symptoms we are having on this one and past 3 other phones....

 

-During phone call I suddenly can't hear her, she hears me fine.

 

-Phone locks up when call comes in, can't answer, can't select anything on the screen.

 

-Phone starts dialing random numbers during a call

 

-Apps start loading up on the phone randomly

 

-Drop calls all the time

 

-Last one #3 that we had would lock up entire phone and required a hard boot if we tried to take a picture

 

-Phone gets very hot during calls

 

-Incoming text messages show wrong sender randomly from another contact in the address book. ie Message sent from Sally when looked at may say Message from Sue??

 

We are going to upgrade the OS today and see if it remedies some problems. I have told Verizon we are both getting very frustrated and we keep going round and round with this same phone. It's has major issues!

 

Anyone else having these problems with a fascinate?
