I am supposed to get a free Samsung Gear S2 Watch with the purchase of a Samsung S7 Phone here is the info:
How to claim this offer.
- Purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge on device payments before 3/18/16
- Register your new device at SamsungPromotions.com/VerizonOffer.
From 2/23/16 through 3/18/16, purchase a Samsung GS7 or GS7 edge on device payment. For details to claim the free Samsung Gear S2 or Gear VR offer, visit SamsungPromotions.com/VerizonOffer. Offer claim form and valid purchase receipt must be submitted online by 3/31/16 at 11:59:59 PM EST. Subject to verification, customers will receive offer within approximately 4–6 weeks after verification of offer claim.
I Went to the Samsung Promotions.com/Verizonoffer and all they offer is the Gear VR. I dont want the Gear I want the Watch like they say they offer (this is the whole reason I went online to purchase! I am to old to play games on a VR and the watch is what I would use. So is this some type of scam to get you to purchase online or is there another place I can get the free watch???? What is Verizon pulling here?
I was on Chat and they could not help me at all they just gave me the link and it goes to the VR still no watch. They were not helpful in anyway that's another reason I smell a scam!
So Verizon and Samsung whats up is it a real thing here???

AS this add says, register the new phone to get the promo. You can't register until you have the phone in hand.

It's also important to note that Verizon states it is a $349 dollar value, and the offer redemption site says it's a $300 value. I spent close to an hour on the phone with Carissa, and I explained all these points. I was basically told to bad, I should have known it would run out. And that she was passing the information up. We know what that means. They wouldn't even refund a restocking fee to return the phone! They offered nothing, this is so scammy. I didn't realize Verizon was like this now.

I was also told I would have to pay the $35 restocking fee......unfortunately VZW has failed here and will not take any measures to remedy after being given misinformation and assurances on multiple occasions...
there are other ways to seek remedy though, in light of all the facts and mis-facts regarding this pre-order and promo and assurances and promises from VZW reps not to be concerned while the promo is still being currently advertised it might be prudent to contact BBB but even more important is your states Attorney General..... most states have a web site where you can start a claim = "If you’ve been victimized by fraud, deception, or unfair methods of competition" and have a Consumer Protection Division under the Attorney General office where you can upload documents etc..... the more claims filed to the consumer protection department the faster they usually act......

$200 that it'll fall flat your AG will do NOTHING because the terms are there, and if people followed the links they'd see the terms. They don't hide it either. LG promotion went through the SAME thing 2 years in a row. They are not going to take it down until ALL items are gone not because what you wanted is all taken up.

When you're on the phone with verizon and the sales person is telling you "sure, you can still order and get the watch" as a representative of the company, verizon is still culpable. And to STILL be advertising it as both when they know the watches are sold out is wrong no mater what the terms and conditions say.

My situation is very similar! I received the S7 on 3/10!Purchased Online as requested to get the Gear S2 I went to the website and requested the Gear S2 and I uploaded the online receipt that I got on the time of the purchase.
I received this message
|
Few days later I received this email:
You’re Almost There! |
Hello Your submission isn’t quite complete, but you’re almost there! Here’s what’s missing: Your receipt doesn’t show a qualifying device purchase. Your information has already been saved. Please finalize your Offer claim at the below link. |
Okay, so I got the receipt that came in the box and just uploaded the receipt on the same order for Gear S2, and this the message that I get!
|
I never changed anything on my order and now they will send me a stupid VR !
So I emailed the Samsung customer service. an this the answer that i received
Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. The option to select a Samsung Gear S2 watch instead of the VR headset and Oculus Game Bundle is available exclusively for participants who purchased either a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge from www.VZW.com. For more information, please review the official Terms and Conditions here: https://promos.samsungpromotions.com/gearvr/en-us/Rules . More information about this may be found under Section 4. Gift Details. If you have selected the Samsung Gear S2 option when you registered for this promotion and you did not purchase from www.VZW.com, you will only be eligible to receive the VR headset and Oculus Game Bundle.
Thank you,
PrizeLogic Support
But I did order my phone online! I did got to request a Gear S2! Why I am not eligible ? This is a very deceiving marketing strategy by both Samsung and Verizon that is not complying with the promotional agreements. I read the fine line that said limited supply for Gear S2, and when I order they still had it available.
What I don't understand why I am not eligible if I purchased on online and followed all the instructions !

We don't want you to miss out on anything. We suggest that you take all your documentation to a Verizon corporate store to have them go over your information and have them submit what's needed there.

It's because they don't have any more watches so it defaulted you to the vr.

Well, they apparently DO have more watches. I got my phone today and I just went and registered for the promotion and the watch was available as a choice again. I picked it and everything went through fine.

THE WEBSITE IS FIXED AND YOU CAN REGISTER FOR THE WATCH AGAIN!! Doesn't affect me now because I'm switching to tmobile but for those who still want to try, they say they are going to honor it since the 35k statement wasn't in bold type. give it a shot

Also it was already more than 35K like I said... think about it....
People started to get their phones on the 9th. It is now the 16th a week later. If they had 35k it would have been gone on the 10th if not the 11th.

My status says Fulfillment Pending. So I hope I indeed get them. Don't want the Gear VR. If I wanted that, I would go to other store and get them plus a free gift, like Target giving the Gear VR and a $100 gift card, or BestBuy giving the VR plus a 64gb microsd. So I expect they give what they offered.

The link is wrong... I called customer service and this is the proper link
Yes, It says Gear VR but it will let you choose the watch after you select that you bought your phone online.
Like you, I have no need for a Gear VR and I wanted the watch! Hope this helps! (also the rep put in a work order letting tech know that the link is wrong)

We're NOT stupid. When they ran out, there was NO drop down option for the watch. Once they made the watch available again, the drop down option appeared again. So don't assume other people were too dumb to figure out how to get the free watch. You weren't there, trying to order it when they first ran out.

I received the same [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] message. [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] completely lied to me on the phone and got me to buy that phone, telling me I had the option for both. The lying [removed], even gave me all the info to do this properly, making me believe I was in good hands and everything was just great. I've been a customer for over 23 years and they scam me into buying the phone and believing the lies out of this uneducated, conniving [removed] mouth. I give them I think around 4000 to 5000 dollars a year for 23 + years. That's $100,000. And they thank me by coning me into buying a new phone and deliberately lying to me about a their[removed] promo. I'm canceling my service, and will never have anything to do with such a sad and deceitful business. Thank you Verizon, and your [removed]. Keep scamming people and stealing their money.

Nobody likes being lied to, I can see being upset. Rionioni, your loyalty is very much appreciated and we don’t want you leaving Verizon Wireless. Let’s take a look at the options available to you. Now if it’s been less than 14 days, you do have the option of returning the equipment. This will open up the opportunity to get in on any future promotions. If you’d rather keep the equipment, then I’m afraid based on the promotion's limitations, there is not a means to get both the accessories.
