So i just got messed up by Verizon again.
Got the "free" phone upgrade, went up to the store, asked mulyiple times "this is 100% free, right?" The answer was ALWAYS yes.
The answer was i ONLY..i repeat ONLY needed to pay the tax whih was $14.xx which i paid for no problem or concern.
The concer arose when i got to the house and looked at the paperwork.
.
So.. AFTER everything was processed guess what? I paid 100% FULL price for it on the receipt with a credit card. The "free upgrade" cost $180. They stole the $180 without consent.
.
What can i do about this ? This is urgent. i want the money back.

Can't you return the item to the store?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

i just came back from the store and luckily the seller was still there.. He even stopped what he was doing with his current business to see what the issue was.
.
He said "what he got out of it was" the $180 was credited towards the account and i should not be billed anything.
On top of that.. he said even if i get billed.. "its only $7.50 a month". Seriously. He said that.
Yes, i can afford it. But that is not the point. It said FREE upgrade. That is money that could be spent elsewhere.
.
today is 8/29/2019
The billing cycle for this phone, on paper, says it will start 9/29/2019.
.
oh.. and hear this.. $20 line activation fee (which was never deactivated to begin with) and a $40 UPGRADE FEE!!!!!
I am victim of an aggressive salesman.

Did you look at what was billed to your card on the day of purchase? $14 right?
The way these deals work is you commit to stick around for 24 months, and each month Verizon charges and credits your account for $7.49. What you see on your slip is the amount of the retail sales agreement.
All installments look like that on the sales slip.
You do not pay both upgrade and activation fee. Please read those line items. I suspect the $20 is the line access charge. That’s your talk and text plan.

So you are saying they charge the card.. and then put it back in ??
.
I've been on Verizon since the early 2000's. The guy even pointed it out "looks like you've had this plan for a while."
.
I called Verizon on the phone and the guy said it was a "reduced pay" ? i think it was ? and not a free phone. I had to cut the call short and let him go, so no more info on that.
.
Why do i feel like this site is just a waste of time. Verizon doesnt really care hahaha. Verizon might as well be a telemarketer trying to scam peoples info. But at least i got something out of it.

.No, not what I said. Your charge card was only billed for the taxes, not the phone. Look at your CC records.
Your sales slip includes your installment agreement. That means total price, and monthly payments, and the credits.

I am concerned you added a new line, as glitchedpixel suggests. The free phones are usually for adding new service. And currently on an unlimited data plan only. That doesn’t mean they don’t send messages now and then for deals no one else gets.

Rare you see a promo that covers the phone when it isn't a new line of service. Something sounds off here.
Typically those promos go add a new line and get promo credits 1 - 2 billing cycles.
