I try to manually get the 2.2 update on my phone but it comes up "server unavailable". I call Verizon to see if they can help, they tell me to go down to my local verizon wireless store...so I do. I get down there and the representative is having an issue with the update. He goes and gets help, I than am told they cant get the update down at that store and that I have to wait for the update to be reached to me. Is this true?

That is correct. All software updates are now pushed to the phone. This is usually done in waves, so you will probably not receive an update the very day it is released, but should normally receive it very shortly after that release date. We appreciate your patience.
