I have been using samsung Fascinate for last 6 months. Couple weeks back I got a message to update to Android 2.2 (Froyo) and I did. It got updated successfully. In a day or so I started seeing Phone getting frozen. Frozen means
1. No keys operate but they are lighted up (continuously)
2. Screen has corrupt image and that's very dim.
3. Power on/off switch doesn't work.
4. The only solution is to remove the Battery, put it back in and reboot.
Step 4 puts the phone in good condition until it freezes again. This is not a routine behavior so don't have any statistics on what exactly triggers it. Would update once I have something. The only thing I know is there was a third party application which I ran (which I have been running for last 6 months without any problem) before the phone froze today.
But my question : is it a known issue? And if yes what's the solution?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Agreed. Make sure your contacts, etc. are backed up to verizon or google.
Then do a 'Factory reset'. ( Menu..Settings..Privacy..'factory data reset'. )
Then use phone for a while without installing any market apps.
If phone works OK, install apps a couple at a time and test to make sure
no problems. Uninstall any problem apps.
Any help here?
Reset would definitely help....
