Froyo upgrade battery issue

Starting this thread since the existing one is mysteriously marked solved, when it is a long way from being fixed.  Battery life has been cut in half for almost everyone who ran the upgrade to Android 2.2.  Verizon tech support has been useless on the issue, denying they have heard of it, and then trying to get you to turn off all the things that are the reasons we purchased these in the first place.  They don't seem to understand they worked fine before the update, and they work like crap immediately after the update.  Ergo, the update is causing a major issue.

It took months too long for the update to come out, when it did it was still bloated with Verizon crapware, and it essentially crippled the phones.  It would be nice if someone from Verizon would post something (or better yet text all of us who have one of these phones) and tell us when we can expect this fixed.

I agree.  I'm super **bleep**.  Wish I had had a little bit of patience and waited for the long-promised iphone, which came out 4 months after I bought this crappy fascinate.  And convinced all my friends to get it.  And now I HATE it but can't afford to break my vzn contract or buy the iphone :smileysad:

Tips for better battery life

  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for properly charging the device.
  • Do not store the device in direct sunlight or hot locations.
  • Do not rely on the device's vehicle power adapter as the battery charger for the device.
The vehicle power adapter is meant to be a temporary low battery level solution until the device can be properly charged.
