http://www.terrisgps.com/gnss-gps-differences-explained/#:~:text=GNSS%20stands%20for%20Global%20Navi... The s20 has the new Dual GPS technology, much more accurate. Samsung has informed me that none of the S20 phones come with a compass app. I don't want to have to purchase, download a compass app, and then test to see if it is actually better\more accurate than the single gps chip on my older s7 phone (and if not, pay $50.00 for a restocking fee).
Has anyone purchased the s20, added a compass app, and tested against an older single gps phone (like point to true north (0 degrees)), to see if they are point pointing to the same spot on the horizon?

Why would someone purchase an S20 for a single app?

That is what you got out of my posting? If It sounded like I was asking if anyone had purchased a S20, just for one app, then that was incorrect. I was asking if anyone who had purchased a S20, had (or could), do this test (don't most people end up getting a compass app?). To me, this is a selling point, for both Samsung and Verizon (and the other carriers), that besides use for for map applications and the like, could also be used for app developers.

I've never gotten one. I don't know of anyone who has ever gotten one, either. Regardless, hopefully you will be able to get the information you need/want.
Out of curiosity, which app would you recommend?

All of the compass apps are off, if you have the single GPS phone, but the one that someone recommended to me (who said that they tried a lot of them), is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.happymagenta.spyglass&hl=en_US.
Basically, to test, I would stand in one spot with both the new and old phones, and see where the compass points to north. If they are the same, then buying the S20 for the dual GPS is a waste of money for me. Also, you would need a lensatic hand held\manual compass (which would point to the real north), to see if the S20 phone pointed to the same point on the horizon.
