I am beyond irritated that as the flagship of exactly one year, Verizon continues to provide less than vague answers as to when we will be receiving this update. I used to laugh at Sprint as a provider and swore that I'd never consider AT&T again as an option. However, I have been awaiting Android 5.1.1 since June this year and have watched carries such as Spring and AT&T release 5.1.1 to their customers. At this point, considering I pay about $125/month, I have been investigating other carriers and their service records and can honestly say, I am considering paying the fee to break my contract with Verizon to receive support and tech that keeps current. In my estimation, Verizon should be offering credit to those of us that have been waiting months to receive this update to our [removed] devices which haven't worked properly since 5.0.1 was released. I've been a customer with Verizon for 10+ years and can honestly say I have never been so disappointed with the service or lack thereof. Get with it Verizon. Stop treating your customers, whom are probably paying the highest bills based on the handset of their choice, like second rate piles of [removed].
I'm rather curious how much time and money was spent on Verizon creating their fancy new logo - perhaps the developers, designers and others on that team should have focused their energy on testing and releasing the update for their note 4 customers.
VERIZON FAIL!!!!!

I haven't heard anything about t-mobile not releasing 5.1.1 forum the Note 4 and just going to 6.0, but I understand why if they do end up going that route, I would just hope Note 4 users get an update then before March or April of next year for Marshmallow. Same with Verizon, if you're going to pass up 5.1.1, hopefully a 6.0 update rolls out around early January then!

Go to their forums. They upgrade process specifically shows 6.0 and not 5.1.1. Also their customers who purchased it have been hounding for the 5.1.1 and also the security updates for the past 2 months or so. More so especially since stage fright.

I would actually be okay if Verizon went straight to 6.0 Marshmallow if they were one of the first carriers to release it (meaning January time frame). My concern is they've started working on 6.0 and it will be next August before we get it.
T-Mobile has one variant on 5.1.1 (the T3), so some people are attempting exchanges/returns in order to get that variant. Sprint and AT&T of course have had it for quite some time.
Lots of rumors going around that 5.1.1 will be pushed by the end of the month, but I think that's purely speculation at this point.

99% of users are not on the T3 variant. You could do 100 exchanges and not guaranteed to get one. It still means it is not out officially. There are people on T-Mobile forums who have done 5+ exchanges and still have not gotten a T3. Even their own update pages showed the N4 didn't get 5.1.1 and then when 6.0 was official T-Mobile updated that page saying it will get 6.0.

Sorry, Tidbits, but there is no way for you to know what percentage of users have the T3. Fact is, T-Mobile has a Note 4 on 5.1.1.
To your second comment, I appreciate you pointing out the other issue with Verizon. At least T-Mobile informs their customers about their upgrade plans! I have no idea if I'm going to get 5.1.1, let alone 6.0.

If there were so many out there there wouldn't be people trying to get the mystical T3 and continuing to fail getting them. Why don't to switch to T-Mobile and see if you get a T3. Go to every T-Mobile store in your state and see if you find 1. People are already doing this. People have done exchanges multiple times. It's scarcely hard to get. State of Hawaii every store has no T3 in stock and I even went to 3rd party like best buy TCA and the like. Also roughly about 12 stores in LA for the 3 days I was there. Yes I do have a Note 4 there. Like I said even if the T3 has it doesn't mean it is official out.

I am truly amazed...just came on here to see if there was any hint when we were getting the 5.1.1.
Several responses from Verizon in the whole thread, not one addressed the issue. I too will wait until my contract is up, and jump ship to T mobile or ATT where you can expect timely updates.

I am very frustrated also that VZW hasn't released the 5.1 for the Note 4. The truth is and I searched it and also I know a Verizon employee that they say Verizon usually releases an OTA at the end of December or sometime in January and also in July or August. Also they might skip the 5.1 update and go forward with the 6.0. That probably won't be released in till July sometime.

New software updates are always exciting DavidF415. I too have been anticipating the release of the software and know how it feels. Although we don't have information if/when the release will happen, you can stay up to date with info being released here: http://bit.ly/dDumph .

So let me just get this response straight - do you think everyone, in this thread, and all of the others, are waiting for 5.1, and someday 6.0, because it's EXCITING?
I just....I don't even really know how to properly respond to that, it's just so asinine.
You do understand people are upset because their hardware isn't working correctly, because Verizon has yet to put a fix out for it yet?
I'm also not too happy with the 'if/when' statement there. I'm waiting for the update so I can stop worrying about my phone constantly having issues, and now have to think IF the update comes.
Your response was just so unhelpful and ridiculous, I don't know whether to laugh or be even more annoyed with all of this.

JorgeO_VZW - Christmas presents are exciting, getting a new puppy is exciting. Waiting for Verizon to stand up and actually acknowledge that they are leaving their customers in a heap with handsets that haven't functioned properly for over a half year is not exciting. Its disgusting, frustrating, irritating, poor customer support, disheartening and mostly a true reflection of what Verizon has become. BUT IT IS NOT EXCITING!!!!
Does VZW honestly train everyone in customer support to provide these vague and anger inciting replies to our inquiries/concerns?
I have read through this thread (which has nearly 8,000 views), which I initiated less than a month ago, and not a single VZW rep has provided even close to what might be considered a 'useful' reply to all of the frustration aired throughout. And now, JorgeO_VZW, you are indicating "we don't have information if/when the release will happen" we are left with an even further heightened level of frustration with the thought that we might not even get an update. Way to go JorgeO_VZW. You've managed to take a buzzing hive and turn it into an irate mob in one fell swoop.
I feel that we, the folks you refer to as 'valued customers' deserve far better than what we have been provided.
Now that I have received my invite to Google FI, I'll be leaving Verizon as soon as my contract is up. I'd break my contract if the fee to do so weren't comparable to getting a divorce (which is what I'll be doing with Verizon), but I suppose I'll have to suffer this BS until its fulfilled next year. At which point, I'll drop VZW like a steaming bag of crap and never look back.
I'm glad you're excited to provide all of us with such timely information. Perhaps you should channel your 'excitement' to someone in your organization that can actually give their customers some answers.
Sincerely, a very unexcited, soon to be non-Verizon subscriber

All verizon wireless customer support should simply stop. Each time any of you post a reply in this thread, it deflates/incites your customers even further. You're all a broken record stating the same thing over and over again. The more you all speak, I fear, the more consumers you'll be losing to other carriers. Once again, #VZWFail

Being a former tech support specialist at VZW in their defense when it comes to updates is that sometimes it takes longer because there are several different versions of OS that is tested. So the testing process is to test each one for the least amount of software issues. Yes it can be hectic waiting for devices to run smoother with the least amount of issues. As a customer of this company I'm glad they take their time in getting me the best reliability of phone service. Many of the issues get overlooked by many companies because they rush out the OS. I also under the frustration of random reboots, screen lock ups, phone not dialing and phone calling folks without me initiating the call. But when I travel I can count how many times on one hand loss of signal. So it's juggle, and it can be frustrating. Hope this helps a little.

That's all well and good, but their track record says different. The Note 3 is a prime example which was never taken care of and they made millions of dollars for no service. The Note 4 is going the same direction with Verizon.

Verizon is very disapointing for there lack of updates for there customers on flagship devices like my note 4 when we are paying the highest bills..maybe you should UNLOCK the bootloaders so that we can custom rom... your testing would go faster if u unlocked ur devices so others and devlopers can work on them and testing... ITS OK VERIZON [Removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] AND THEY WILL NEVER CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS... I have had it good bye verizon you [removed] hahaha i hope everyone leaves.....

I closed both my accounts with them too. This is terrible , we should start
tweeting about this to both Samsung and Verizon... like Apples antenna
gate. Samsung should just release it for all builds and not have the
carriers involved, if they are involved then there should time frames
regarding this. Alternatively when each phone is sold there should be a
guarantee of upgrades and support for x number of years, so that we can all
be assured of appropriate upgrades and know what we are getting into.

I think no one is going to take it seriously we are tiny community android note 4 verizon customers. There has to be an uproar or they will never respond or fix issues. remember Apple antennagate.
I would tweet @SamsungMobileUS @verizon saying. I have a Verizon note 4 and will never recommend any Verizon and Samsung products because of all the issues with their hardware and lack of updates.
Its Public Shaming that will get them to respond ... nothing else
