May 11, 2024 my S10 Galaxy out of the blue started connecting to a network extender which has left my phone useless. I have never had this happen before nor have I ever seen the network extender icon come on. The 2 other phones in my house is an iphone and a motorola and both work fine. In the past week I have wasted hours trying to find a reason for this, chatting with an agent online and on the phone with no help or solution. This can't be some big mystery and you don't know how to fix it and I know I'm not the only person experiencing this. The last thing an agent said to me, after he laughed at me was the only thing I can do to help you is for you to get an extender to help your signal since it's your area. I'm not a mean person but don't think I'm stupid so that conversation ended with him getting cussed out, I pay good money already for my service and I'm not buying something I don't need. If my area was so bad my other 2 phones would be messing up too and they are not. I've been with Verizon for over 15 years and never have I ever been treated like this or had any problems with my service. To make matters worse, I got a replacement thinking it may be the phone itself for $99 fee and still have this headache along with them changing my phone number during activation, smh. I am so sick of this.
I'm thinking about switching carriers or getting a troubleshooter from my local tv station to investigate. Ideas? Anyone?

. . .
Are you saying you cannot make/receive calls/texts when the extender icon is on? When you dial #48 does it say 'you're under network extender service coverage with ID'? If so, it should continue and identify the network extender's 9 digit number which may be traced back to a customer/business account.
Do you use WiFi calling? What if you turn on airplane mode? What signal level do the other phones show that don't connect to the extender?

Thanks for replying. Yes, when that icon comes on I can't call, send texts or go online. It does say I'm connected to an extender and gives numbers after that. Today, I have turned on wifi calling and I could talk text and surf without issues.

Thank you for checking back in with us, Beachy65, I'm glad to hear WiFi is working well for you. Did you want to continue troubleshooting the network extender option?

Everyone has low signal but it doesn't hook to an extender and they have no issues like me.
