Is anyone with the S20 Ultra having GPS issues where no matter what app you're using and what GPS accuracy settings you use the accuracy is intermittent?

That's the only issue that I've discovered so far, but it's kind of a big issue. GPS has my phone 0.5 miles away from my actual location.

Since the manufacturer is away of the issue, what do we need to do in the meantime? I've had it for a week and am debating whether to return it and switch to a different phone or not. Thanks

Good question. We do not have any info in regard to fixes at this time. We can provide general troubleshooting steps https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/troubleshooting/ in an attempt to improve your experience. Have you tried turning Airplane Mode on and off?

This is a major issue.  Not only does my GPS work properly, if I have more than two items open on the phone, I have to close everything and start again.

I would hope this is addressed soon.  This issue has gone on for too long and apologizing constantly isn't helpful.

Thanks

We know the importance of needing to have your GPS working on the device. Can you please provide me with the City and State that you're located in?  KevinR_VZW

Can someone tell me if this GPS issue is still unresolved.  I have an S20+ and ran into GPS problems on a 3 hour trip (each way) yesterday.   Are people still experiencing problems with GPS on Samsung Galaxy S20 phones?   -  -   If so, is there a consensus on how to fix it?  - - Thanks for any info on this!

Courtney-

Thanks for your reply.  I seem to be having the exact same problem with my GPS on my Samsung Galaxy S20+ that others have mentioned above in this thread.   Sometimes when my location is "on" (which it normally is 100% of the time) and using my Waze app, the app will say "No GPS Signal".... "estimating location";  and other times the map seems to freeze up or put me in the wrong location on the map.  I never, ever had this problem with my Samsung Galaxy S8+.

Just as an update to "actual Galaxy S20 (and S10) users".  I was pm'd by 3 different Verizon support people, none of which were helpful at all.  The last Verizon Support person (Sylvia T.) wants me to report the issue to the developer of the Waze App that I use.

She clearly doesn't know the magnitude nor the scope of this problem.  Btw, even more on this topic is being discussed on the Samsung Community Support forum.  As I mentioned previously, someone said turning off the 5G service "might fix the problem".  Ideally at some point, Google/Samsung comes up with a patch to fix the problem we are experiencing.

Mine is fixed. Sadly, I have no idea how it got fixed. Just started working correctly one day.

Samsung Customer Support said this type of problem will normally get fixed with a patch/update.  I just got my Update #6 yesterday...  I don't know if this update resolves the problem.

I also heard of someone turning off their 5g;  I tried this step as 5g doesn't really exist in my area, so no big deal turning it off.   - - Hopefully one of these things fixes the GPS problem.

Google Maps, Avenza Maps, Earth, Life360, GPS Status and Toolbox... I cannot find an app I have used before that will actually work.

I am having the same issue on my S20 Ultra. I've tried multiple times on Waze and Google Maps. I've tried to following to resolve:
Reboot Phone
Remove and reinstall the App
Calibrated the compass

I still get the same message on Waze "No GPS. Showing approximate location"
When I open the app it attempts to connect to GPS and then after a few seconds I get the above message.

I am located in zip code 30004. I have had the phone for a week and have not been able to access GPS.

Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.

Yes, I am having issues.  The GPS (regardless of the app) is showing me jumping around my home location by a mile at a time.  I never had this issue on the Galaxy S10+.

I'm also having this issue and have been since I received my phone a couple weeks ago. I was working for about a week then went bad again today.

Help is here! Were any changes made to any settings before this started happening? What app are you using GPS with? Also, is your device up to date?

Hello, being on top of your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is vital, especially if you are having issues? When did the issue start? What recent changes have occurred? Any other problems?

My Samsung s20 plus has the same problem.   From searching online it looks like this is a huge problem with many people.  Is there a problem with the towers?   Xfinity told me months ago they piggy back off verizons towers.. If this is true.. Is this the reason the GPS is acting up and not getting a solid location?  To many users....  Or just Samsung released a bugged out GPS phone out the box.  I read something about 2 brands of the s20 phone released.  Snapdragon and exynoc?  And the people with the dragon had the faulty GPS.  Either way Verizon needs to ship all of us a new s20 phone with working GPS.. Way to push out a 1200 dollar paper weight.

It's definitely worrying to see you're also experiencing issues with the GPS on your device. Please tell us, are you experiencing any other issues with your device? Does it have any signs of physical or water damage?
Please run a Device Health Check on your device. The following link will guide you through this process. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-206364/

I have had the problem since I powered up the S20 Ultra. It is consistently intermittent. I have calibrated the compass, cleared the cache and storage for each app, updated each app, restarted the phone several times. I am at a loss on how to get the GPS to work on the S20 Ultra.

This has been an issue since I first got my S20 Ultra March 5.  There isn't a recent change it is an ongoing issue.  It happens across any navigation app you use.  I've been on the phone trying everything you can possibly, do including resetting the phone 4 times to it's original condition, with tech support.  I've used GPS Status Pro to reset the GPS multiple times.  It's an issue that an end user cannot fix.  It's most likely one of these reasons:

1.  Android 10 software issue.

2.  Software issue on Samsung's/Verizon's.       side.

3.  A bad connection between the GPS               module and antenna inside phone.

4.  Interference from the new 5g modem           Qualcomm uses.
