Galaxy S23+ SIM not reading, also charges SUPER slow

Let's see if anyone's heard of this before-

Me and my son were watching a video on my S23+ yesterday and out of nowhere, the network drops out. I thought I might've been in a dead zone, or something, so I restarted the phone. When it came back on, I got an error message saying "Your phone isn't activated. You won't be able to use the network because a SIM hasn't been inserted.".  I searched the issue and some solutions (restarting, cleaning sim/tray, resetting mobile network) came back which I tried all and nothing worked.

That's when I noticed I needed to charge the phone. I plug in and get an error about inserting the cable fully....it was (also a brand-new cable, literally 18 hours old). I noticed the charge time was 6 hours and 34 minutes to get a full charge from 29%.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Do I have a bad SIM, or is the phone shot? I wouldn't think the phone could be dead, but the combination of the sim not reading while not charging makes me think the phone itself could have given up the ghost? Any help would be appreciated.

Oh man.  I sure hope this isn't the same thing which was plaguing the previous S22 generation, where the charging port board and flex antenna just go out after some time.  Users were reporting it would start happening about 18-24 months of use with S22 phones.  If this turns out to be what it is, the parts are cheap and would be more what a repair shop wants to charge for labor.  Would have thought Samsung would have learned after all the negative feedback about the S22s having this problem.
