My phone, which has worked great for over a year, recently (maybe after the Oreo update?) has lost 4G LTE capabilities. When I am connected to wifi, my mobile network is connected at 1X. When not connected to wifi, the most I ever see is 3G. This is happening all over (so it's not a location issue), in places I have always had strong 4G in the past, and in places where other people's phones are still seeing strong 4G signals.
When I restart my phone, 4G comes on for about 10 seconds, then drops out and reverts to 3G.
I have tried switching mobile networks, resetting network settings, and rebooting the phone.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks!

Wstiles133, having service is always key. We want you to have the connection you need. You have taken some great steps to get this resolved. Let's continue to move forward and get to the bottom of this. What is the zip code? Do you recall adding any new apps or games around the time that this began? Has there been any physical or liquid damage to the phone? Let's have you complete a health check by following the steps at http://spr.ly/6583E6WwV. Please let us know if anything returns in red or yellow as these will be an indication of something that requires a closer look. Loren_VZW

There has been no damage to the phone. No new apps or games. I ran the
health check as you requested, no flags.
This has only been an issue since the last OTA firmware update.

Clarification: is been happening since the last OTA update, not necessarily
Ireo in general.
Zip code is 17402.

I tried all of the recommendations found above and on online boards and
nothing worked. I did, however, find a number of posts with similar issues
- none with resolutions.
I went to the Verizon store, and the first thing they did was tell me it
was an issue with my phone and tried to sell me a new one. Considering
they didn't even really check or try to solve the problem, I wasn't
interested.
I went home, backed up all of my files, apps, and settings, and did a full
factory reset. As soon as the factory reset was complete, I once again had
full 4gLTE coverage! All I was out was the time to backup and restore, but
that's certainly less than being out $1000 unnecessarily for a new phone!

I am having the exact same issue, and would rather not perform a factory reset. Is there any other options?

I spent about three weeks trying everything that message boards and Verizon
support recommended. The only thing that worked was a factory reset,
unfortunately.
I backed up all of my files, and used an SMS Restore app to back up texts
and phone call logs. It was an inconvenience, but not too painful...

Ya, my old phone got wet, and started telling me to install a sim card before it died completely. So, I will try to get the folks at the Verizon store to give me a new sim card first. That is the only thing I can think of. I have tried just about everything else.

you could've mentioned the phone getting wet when you were having the same issue as the o p.
getting wet is never good with electronics.

It was the old phone that got wet, not the one I'm having issues with.

I am sorry to hear that your phone got wet. I live on mine, so I understand the importance of having a working device. Hopefully, the new SIM card will resolve your issue. Being that the phone had gotten wet there may be internal damage that we are not able to see. Also, any physical or liquid damage would void the manufacturer's warranty. Your best option would be to file an insurance claim (if you have insurance) as that is the only thing that will cover liquid damage. https://www.asurion.com/verizon/

We have 2 Samsung S8 phones. They updated to Android Pie. Since the update both phones are having signal issues. We are at no signal or 1x or 3G and every once in a while 4G. Have taken. The phones to Verizon Store and they have done everything including a Network Reset and replacing the SIM card. No luck. Did a factory data reset and same issues.
Is there anything anyone has tried to remedy this problem. We put the SIM into and old Note 5 and signal level, where there is none on the S8, has all bars and 4G. Both phones are essentially useless.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Seems this is a problem with Pie and S8. This as experienced by another carrier.

wi-fi is dependent on the quality of the network signal in your area & will be 5-12mbps at best.
it depends on whose service & phone types of the other folks you mentioned as receiving 4g, are connected to.
your phone upgraded to oreo & upgrades don't always work out on phones they weren't designed for.
