When can we Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users expect the latest Android OS update? Just bought the girlfriend an S10+ and I love the OS. I know historcally Verizon is usually last to roll out Android updates, but was just curious if anything is coming...

Sprint just released it at midnight 3/26/19. Verizon is falling behind.

Exactly... And Verizon had the nerve to blame it on Samsung via a private message. Unacceptable.

I was on with tech support for 3.5 hours and NO SOLUTION. The OTA fails and the windows update says "your current firmware does not support a firmware update.". Why. The intelligentsia at Verizon tells me it's a SAMSUNG issue. REALLY? IT'S VERIZON FIRMWARE MADE FOR THEM BY SAMSUNG. RIDICULOUS!

Shanenyc,
This isn't the experience we want you to have with us. I'm sorry you reached out to us and there was no solution with your software update. I'm here to fix this issue and help restore your faith in us. Are you only having issues with updating your software? Are you experiencing any other issues with your service and this is why you're trying to update your software? Has your device been exposed to any liquid or physical damage?

Looks like no Pie for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Plus owners until sometime between April or May.
Verizon claims Samsung is having to rework the update to work with Verizon's system since they are in the middle of setting up the 5G network.
So if you are eagerly waiting on Pie, it looks like it's going to be in the oven for another month or two before being served to us. 8(

Which would you rather have, an update that could trash your phone or wait for one that works?

Yeah one that works, but Pie has been out for so long now, there is no reason by this time it should be polished.
So who do you blame, Samsung or Verizon? I say both!
Samsung holding back hoping to get more sales for the S10 series.
Verizon has the update, they are just holding it back for who knows what reason other than to action thier customers off. When you call, each rep. will give you a different reason as to why they haven't released it. None of the answers they give you are within reason.
It's a marketing gimmick for both to get sales on the new phones.

Hi! I just read an article on androidcentral that said the S8/S8+ Pie would be ready in March, so with the Verizon "lag" I would expect it to be coming, but long after all the other providers. I love Samsung phones, but this kind of treatment really makes me want to buy a Google Pixel from Google so I can get the updates directly from them. I understand we are using an older phone, but come on.

I didn't know Verizon marched to the beat of AndroidCentral's drum. What's the big hurry to brick your phone. Verizon will release Pie when they are confident Pie will give you the best experience possible of this update.

Klue, you hit the update nail square on the head. Patience is the key to these updates. More often than not, they cause way more problems than they fix.

Hello All -
I got my Andriod 9.0 Pie update on Saturday night around midnight. So far no problems. I like the new features I've played with so far.

No issues with Pie huh? I got Pie around 4/4/19 and while I like the UI, I hate the updated becasue every time I leave my house, my wifi shuts completely off and doesn't turn back on automatically (even when it's set to turn on automatically in "known" placed). I have to go into settings and manually turn wifi back on. Pain in the neck!! Never had issues with Oreo.
