Gmail won't send or receive

Ok, now I've had the fascinate a few hours.  I love it but have a couple things I can't seem to figure out.  I got my gmail account set up and it received all my gmail, but now emais sent just sit in the outbox showing "sending" and I haven't received any new emails in a couple of hours, even though new ones have arrived via gmail on my home computer.  Is it something about when it synchs?  How can I fix it?

Are you on wifi or 3g?  Go into Settings-accounts & sync, select your gmail account and see if the little sync symbol is beside any of them.  If one seems to be stuck, uncheck it and then recheck the box.  You can also hit the menu button and you should have an option to sync there.

Hello,

 

Have you updated the settings on your GMAIL account to enable POP3 or IMAP forwarding?  If not, please follow the steps below:

 

Enabling POP

You can read your Gmail messages from a client or device that supports POP, like Microsoft Outlook or Netscape Mail.

To enable POP in Gmail:

 

  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right and select Mail settings at the top of any Gmail page.
  3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

  4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
  5. Choose what to do with your messages after your POP client or device receives them.
  6. Configure your POP3 client and click Save Changes
