Google Wallet still unavailable in Google Play Store???

Why is the Verizon Galaxy Nexus still not able to get Google Wallet from the Google Play Store???

It shows up in Google Play but is still greyed out on Install with "This item is not compatible with your device".

According to others, if you have the Nexus 7, you can install to the Nexus 7 and then the Galaxy Nexus becomes available and you can install it.  Some of us don't have a Nexus 7 to do this trick.

I'm tired of searching for the APK just to update it.

EDIT:  For those interested:

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said, “Today’s action demonstrates that compliance with FCC obligations is not optional.  The open device and application obligations were core conditions when Verizon purchased the C-block spectrum.  The massive innovation and investment fueled by the Internet have been driven by consumer choice in both devices and applications.  The steps taken today will not only protect consumer choice, but defend certainty for innovators to continue to deliver new services and apps without fear of being blocked.”

Verizon Wireless offers customers its 4G LTE service on C Block spectrum.  Verizon Wireless bid at auction to acquire that spectrum, understanding that it was accompanied by open device and application obligations.  Specifically, licensees offering service on C Block spectrum “shall not deny, limit, or restrict the ability of their customers to use the devices and applications of their choice on the licensee’s C Block network,” subject to narrow exceptions.

Google Wallet isn't related to the Block C spectrum.

It's tethering issue not NFC.

Read more sources and you'll see that Verizon is claiming that Google Wallet falls under the "narrow exceptions" rule because the first release of Google Wallet stored secure information on the phone itself.  The newer versions of Google Wallet no longer do that and store your information in the Google Cloud therefore it no longer has a hardware integration to it.

So now that Google Wallet directly interacts with the Google Cloud, that app should fall under the C Block ruling to not be blocked.

Verizon was only blocking Wallet because of the storage of information, not because of it's use of NFC.

Then why is Google Wallet blocked on AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and every other carrier in the USA expect Sprint?  Sprint has it officially and that it.

Why is it available to download on the Nexus 7 on a Verizon Network???

It is also available for download on ATT Samsung Galaxy devices with NFC enabled.

The Nexus 7 is a wifi only device. No carrier involved.

The reason and speculation of why Wallet isn't on the Verizon Wireless network is the same as the first discussion you created over a month ago. There was no need to start another on the same exact topic.
