Ever since the last 2 security updates my gps location has been almost nonexistent. Tried a replacement phone and it has the same issue. Odd note, when both phone we deactivated and only had wifi, location was perfect. Not a phone issue, definitely verizon software. I need this fixed. I cannot use maps or any other navigation app. We I open one I am at the correct location for about 30 seconds then I'm gone. I have dealt with both Samsung and Verizon tech support. No solution. I am going out of town soon amd need maps to work. Please help

Thank you for reaching out with your GPS concern, Mbaier. Let's investigate further. Is this happening everywhere you go? Do you know if anyone else in the area is having the same issue?

A piece of additional information, the last 2 days if I reset my network if works for about an hour. I should not have to do this.

Same problem here. Hours on the phone with Apple and Verizon tech-support. Still no resolution

Just a guess, but maybe the security updates shut off your phone's location or else your GPS app wasn't given permission to access your phone's location?

Sine the issue started in late January I have been to 2 different states. No gps problems until I get back to atlanta. I recently had a guest with the same phone as I, they have never had gps issues. Until they got to my home in atlanta. It is definitely an issue in atlanta, more specifically I believe the cell tower on Bishop Ave between Loring Heights and Atlantic Station.

I dug around a little bit elsewhere on the internet about this, and from what you've described, it sounds like a problem with poor cellular service. Especially since you said using Wi-Fi at home fixed the problem, and you didn't have problems when going elsewhere, along with someone else coming to visit you having the exact same problems. If your signal strength at home is perpetually weak and/or your data is super slow, the location on your phone will not update regularly or may fail to update at all when on cellular service.

It doesn't work while on wifi either. "While on wifi it still bounces off cell towers" The only time wifi worked fixing gps was when phone was deactivited. I have the tower in question within eye sight. When I walk up the road to another tower everything is A ok.
They have been building a new office space next to the tower in question. I have 5g full bars. I was only on 4g in one state and gps was fine.

We actually have some troubleshooting available for GPS issues that can help you. Please go here: https://www.verizon.com/support/devices/#mobile and find your device. Look for GPS in the search box and go through the steps. Let us know if this shows any improvement.

I appreciate tour help, but since it only happens around that 1 area it is obviously a tower issue. That tower now has a high rise office building nearing completion un front of it. As the building got higher, gps got lost. Unfortunately I happen to live in that area. I have been dealing with this for 6 months. What is it going to take to have a someone go out and stand next to this tower and see the problems.

I have a note 20 ultra. Yes all software is up to date. Even had an asurion tech look at it. My guest also had a note 20 ultra. One family member has a s24 with spotty gps in that same area. Once we are away from the reach of that cell tower all apps and phones work fine. Apps used maps, tried waze, tried pokemon go, even have used 2 different gps test apps.
