Has anyone had success using their Galaxy Nexus in China/

I'm travelling to China for 10 days in July and I want to bring my phone with me. I intend to use it to connect to the web via WiFi, but I'm also interested in using it for phone calls and/or data.

I went to Mexico in December and was able to add Mexico to my plan so I could use my minutes - but data was prohibitively expensive so I didn't use that.

I'm curious to know if anyone has successfully used their Galaxy Nexus in China and is it possible to get LTE data there? Or would I be limited to 3G? I'd love to hear how you used it, what you did to modify your existing plan while you were overseas or how you were able to connect to a Chinese telecom provider.

Any info would be helpful as I'm exploring my options.
