Hey Verizon. You have nothing to upgrade the note 7 to.

You dont have the LG v20 . You wont have any iphone 7 plus phones till late nov-dec. What the heck are we supposed to upgrade to? You have any flip phones you want us to upgrade to? This is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. Verizon is worse then Frontier.

So get a refund.  This is hardly Verizon's fault, anymore than it is ATT, Sprint or T-mobiles fault.  I always have at least one old phone to tide me over, just in case.

"Just "return it" really...how is that...Verizon hasn't sent out the boxes REQUIRED for shipping by the shipping services. So in your informed opinion how long should someone wait for this...while having a potentially dangerous device.

Second this is also carriers responsibility as well. We are Verizon customers and they are Samsung customers. All carriers are going to be compensated for their costs by Samsung. We want Verizon to be able to give us the opportunity to get a device that is actually comparable not older technology.

Please think about your responses to people who are having a horribly different time with this .

The returns are not being handled correctly.  The request was to physically take back to the place of purchase.  Now Verizon is sending "fireproof" boxes.  Some Verizon locations are not refunding as ATT, T-mo, and Sprint are, and charging restock fees they will then have to try to get refunded.

My answer may have been simplistic, but if you don't want to sink $650-750 into a phone you didn't want - don't.  Borrow someone else's old phone, Pick up one of the cheapo's and wait for a better phone, whatever.

I ordered a Pixel.   I just sold my 6p, which you could spend half your refund to buy on eBay or Amazon.

I pray I don't regret it.    I also sold my Note 3, bought a note 4.  Liked the build, but the phone was faulty and I hated it.  Bought a used Note 3 and despite the cheap build, it works like an old Jeep.  Can't kill it.

You're right that Verizon's not at fault that Apple didn't manufacture enough phones.  You're right that Verizon's not at fault that this phone had a recall.  However, they do have a responsibility in that they are a retailer of this phone.  It is not our fault as a consumer.  I personally edged up on my Note 4 paying 75% of that phone and then sending it to Verizon.  I'm out the phone and the money.  I didn't mind that for a phone that I wanted (Note 7).  I don't have any backup phones because I've donated my old phones to different charities except for this last phone that I sent to Verizon.  Now, I have to return this phone to get a phone I don't want and I have to keep it for 2 years now.  Come on Verizon.  What happened to that honorable company I came to about 20 years ago?  The company that I referred to at least 25 people?  Verizon at minimum should honor the annual upgrade!  Verizon is at fault for not releasing the LG V20.  Verizon is the ONLY major carrier that hasn't announced a date for the LG V20.  You're right that Verizon is not at fault for the phone being recalled.  However, Verizon most definitely is at fault as a retailer of this device!  They are handling these recalls absolutely horribly!!!  Their customer service representatives are giving people so many contradicting statements that it's getting really ridiculous and sad.  I keep hoping that I see the LG V20 listed on their website.  I keep hoping that I see the S7 edge, Pixel XL, or LG V 20 with an annual upgrade printed on their website.  I'll keep hoping for a little longer.

Now, I have to return this phone to get a phone I don't want and I have to keep it for 2 years.

You are not stuck for 2 years if you use device payments.  You are allowed to pay off and sell at any time and buy a different device.  With no stylus phone available, buy a cheap stop gap phone, take your $850 and spend half on a Nexus 6p.  now. Come on Verizon. What happened to that honorable company I came to about 20 years ago? The company that I referred to at least 25 people? Verizon at minimum should honor the annual upgrade! Verizon is at fault for not releasing the LG V20.

The V20 will be available after the 21st.  As with all other carriers.  Verizon didn't get a preorder, just like ATT didn't get Pixel preorder, but will still have the phone.  FYI! If you must spend top dollar on a phone the Pixel XL would be a great choice.  Verizon is the ONLY major carrier that hasn't announced a date for the LG V20. You're right that Verizon is not at fault for the phone being recalled. However, Verizon most definitely is at fault as a retailer of this device! Annual upgrade with trade in takes back a phone you paid 50% on and resells it for 75-80% of the original price.   It's organized theft.  The Samsung GS6 is 18 months old and still selling for over half its original price.  The GS7 is still selling at full retail.

Back to the V20.  The previous 3 LG phones have all had the same fatal hardware flaw and LG failed to fix it.  I would be very reluctant to buy anything from LG.

also, the LG v20 looks like poo. Nowhere close to the ascetics or hardware features of the Note 7

LOL.  Poo!   I agree.  I actually liked the look of the V10.  But certainly not the shiny jewel of the last 2 years of Samsung.

I actually like a more industrial look.  Someone called my GS6 a term Verizon will edit out, but pleasing in a feminine sort of way, if you get my drift.   I don't really like doing a 360 fingerprint removal every 10 minutes.

The Note 4 was a nice build.  I like a phone you could brain a mugger with.

Yeah the glass thing sucks for fingerprints but looks extra premium. Also the ip68 Dust/Water resistance is so good.

I hear you on the 4..brain a mugger with...I like that Smiley Happy

I have to put kudos to the 4 as well.  I have a horse who decided that picking up my phone was fun..as was dropping it onto the concrete passageway outside his stall.  Not a scratch or ding and that was only with a simple case.  I upgraded the case later to something much more substantial but also kept it out of horse nose reach.

I totally agree with what you have said. No it is not Verizon"s fault that some of these devices have been faulty. But to simply ask us to use the upgrade that was given back to us on your new google pixel phone (that you are pushing hard), or the 7-8 month old s7 edge or iPhone 7 plus is ridiculous. Verizon, you tell me how it is fair to take our annual upgrade away for something that was not our fault. That's not honorable at all. My other gripe is the fact that you are going to charge us for keeping the phone if we choose. Excuse me!! But I am pretty sure that  Samsung is going to pay you for every phone that you sold. Overcharging us consumers is not the way to go. And to force us to pick something we don't want is out of the question.

Alot of us had to turn in our old phones to you in order to upgrade. We don't have spare devices. An to continue to tell us that we may upgrade at anytime we just have to pay the rest of the phone off is crazy to. I know I speak for a lot of us to when I say We do not have $600-$800 laying around.

You have got to come up with better options here. bottom line, That is something that you can control.

I called my local Verizon corporate store. Before I could even speak to a live person, there was a recording stating if I was calling about the Note 7 return, please return online. As they would not be handling the exchange. Verizon does not have much to offer as far as phones right now. Iphones are on backorder, pixel looks cheap and old fashioned and no LGV20 yet.  I guess ill hold on to my note 7 till they pry it from my hands or remotely shut it off or whatever. Unless something comes out better. Im not waisting my "upgrade"on a "downgrade"

I am very disappointed in all of this. The Note 5 is the only phone that is similar, however they are charging for the Note 5 like it is brand new. If the Note 7 was still viable they wouldnt be able to charge the prices for Note 5 as they are. I also traded my Note 5 for a Note 7 and lost a half year of payments, only to turn around and buy another Note 5? Very unsetting.

Yea. I know what you mean. I had an s7edge. I made 6 payments on it and then paid $300 to edge up to the note 7. Now i may be forced into upgrading (downgrading) back into a new s7edge. Course ill loose the $300 . Very unfair.

They can't tell me they don't have plenty of Note 5 they could dig out and unload at cost.  They can write that off.

I have noticed none of the carriers are suggesting a solution and all are having the same discussion.
