How can I add droid robot pictures to my blank contact pictures (don't like the blank blue heads)

You would need access to the system framework drawables to change that.

Just change it to some generic picture you have saved on the sd card. That's what I did for some of my contacts. I think I have approximately 30+ people in my list that work for the same company. However their location is different from mine so I don't have a clue to what they look like. I then saved a thumbnail image of their company logo on my phone. Every single one of the employees from that company has that logo as their picture.

Thank you Ann154 for your assistance. In addition to her suggestion, you also have the option to take a new picture, using the camera on the phone, and save that to the appropriate contact. To do so, simply choose the contact you wish to change, press your "Menu" button, and choose "Edit." From there, you can either take the photo, or use the one you have in your Gallery.

I don't like blank heads either.  I have over 500 contacts and I either have the actual photo for each or a still photo that I like.  I also use the Droid Robot photo for general contact people.  All you have to do is go to google.com and in the search box input "Droid Robot picture".  You'll get several to choose from.  Right click on the one you want and email it to yourself.  If you get your email on your phone you can save it to your picture folder and then add it as a photo.  Hope that helps.

There is a new app in the market called Androidify: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.androidify where you can design androids to look like your friends.  This may be a fun alternative to the boring old blank heads.  Haven't tried it yet, but I just might.
