Have you ensured that wi-fi is turned on and active, assuming you have access to wi-fi? If you don't have wi-fi access, have you ensured that mobile data is turned on and active?

Kalea, Let's get your internet going! tikibar1 provided the best first steps, indeed; ensuring Wifi is off and Mobile data is turned on. What happens when you try to connect to the Internet? Any error messages? Please try powering off the phone and removing the battery for about 30 seconds, then restart. Any improvement?

I have internet, but cant get into play store. The error I get is "no
internet connection available. Check your settings. Background data is
disabled."
I've followed the directions and unchecked the box for background data and
checked the box for auto sync data.
no luck.

genukuz, I would suggest trying to reset the play store app like so...
settings menu, then find your application manager. It will be called either apps, app manager, applications, or simply application manager. When you find it and tap, you will be presented with a list of apps, and it will say "downloaded" at the top. Swipe left a few times until it says "all" instead of downloaded. Find "Play Store" in the list by scrolling down, tap it. Then select force stop, and clear data.
That should fix it. Good luck!

No that did not work. I even restarted my phone with no success. I've had
this phone since June with no problems. This issue just started last week.
