On the Conversations screen tap the 3 vertically aligned lines, a menu will appear, from there you can tap "restore messages". This should restore most of your messages that you had on your previous device/before your factory reset.
It is possible some of your older text messages may not be restored though.

river62, we hear you and we want to make sure your concerns are resolved. Integrated Messaging is a service that works with Verizon Messages (Message+) to let you send and receive text and multimedia messages seamlessly on your smartphone, tablet, computer or the web using your Verizon mobile number. The service syncs up to 90 days of messages across your devices.
You can use Verizon Messages (Message+) to send and receive messages without the Integrated Messaging service. To use the Verizon Messages (Message+) app without the multi-device sync feature, simply unsubscribe from Integrated Messaging.
However, if you want to access your messages from a device other than your primary phone, like your tablet or computer, then you'll need to subscribe to Integrated Messaging.
Additionally, Yes, you can restore messages on Android devices that have been synced with Verizon Messages (Message+) in the last 90 days.
Data usage applies unless you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. Restoring from online may take some time if you have a lot of messages to restore.
