About a month ago or so I started dropping calls. Every single call is dropped. I've traveled 100's of miles in different directions and the same thing happens, so it isn't a specific area code/tower/reception issue. My phone will show 4 or full bars, then goes to 1 or 0... then call drops. Then back up to 4 or so, and so on. I got a new sim card installed at the store. Just had the phone reset to factory defaults (which they promised I wouldn't lose anything and my calendar and bookmarks are gone - not happy!) I'm still dropping calls and bars jump all over the place from 0 to full bars all the time. I did find a forum online that Galaxy s7 has broken antenna issues. Since signal strength is intermittent, I'm leaning toward that as the issue? Please help!

The replacement phone works perfectly! Not a single dropped call with the new phone. Everyone I talk to with this phone thanks you! So definitely something was wrong with the old phone.

If your location makes no difference in the dropped calls, your phone may have a bad antenna.

Finally got time to respond. I do have the most current update and the calls are dropped in safe mode also. Tried several calls in safe mode. All were dropped.

JayGan26, let’s keep moving in the right direction toward a resolution. Since this issue has been happening, what steps have been tried to get the device going? (We want to make sure we don’t repeat the steps.) Is this happening everywhere?

JayGan26, TakendraW_VZW's question is so representative of how little these people read the posts to which they reply. I had the same thought you did when I read it.

@JayGan26 We want to stop dropped calls from happening. I’m sorry that you’re experiencing problems with your service. I assure you I would do all the research necessary to get this resolved for you. We understand how important it is to have excellent service. We’re always working to improve our network. Have you made any changes to your phone (other than replacing your SIM card)? Can you please tell me where is this happening (you mentioned everywhere; can you please provide a zip code)? Are others impacted?

So what's the next step? Replace phone, service phone, switch companies? The guys at the store are only interested in selling me a brand new $800 phone.

In addition to what was previously stated:
" I got a new sim card installed at the store. Just had the phone reset to factory defaults (which they promised I wouldn't lose anything and my calendar and bookmarks are gone - not happy!) The issue happens everywhere I travel... minnesota, Iowa, south dakota, wisconsin... any, and every zip code. Calls dropped when I'm outside, in a vehicle, in a house, anywhere. Also, before the sim card, a guy at the Verizon store changed a bunch of settings. I have no idea what he all did. Didn't work. New sim card. Factory reset. Nothing changed on phone. Calls dropped in safe mode... all calls. Phone updated with current update.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, I think the phone antenna could be bad, as you apparently learned in another S7 forum.

Not sure if its the antenna or not. My wife and I both have s7 edges due to the recall on the note's. We actually had great connections through our whole house (about a mile from the verizon store). We used to make fun of Sprint friends who would drop calls in our house. Now for about a month we have been dropping calls like crazy. I tried all the "reset that, reset this" tricks and I still get the same result. My wifes phone does it too. Not sure if a Verizon rep can look to see if we have a tower down around my location or what. Going from having almost full bars in our lower level to no bars/1g is not acceptable. If this continues we may as well go with Sprint since they are cheaper and get the exact same reception in our house.

My entire sitiuation matches your comment. I got this S7 cause my beloved Note was a fire hazzard. I am always dropping calls and Spint prices are pretty sweet for new phones. I dont have contract with VZW so maybe its time to go.

We never want to see you go. We see a replacement device workded to fix what was going on with one of our customers. You may need a new device as something may be going on with your current device. Are you aware if your device is under warranty? Do you have insurance on the device? Have you done any troubleshooting so far?
