My messages used to be read aloud using a Windows phone. I got a Samsung Galaxy S7 but does not read aloud any text messages. This is using an Entune system for 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited with navigation. Anyone know the trick to setting that up?

There may be a setting in the car that you need to change.

There are none to be found. Just basic commands which were set correctly.

tglls Let's see what we can do about getting your messages to play over the Entune System. Once the phone is paired with the car complete the following: Go to settings > tap bluetooth > tap the on button > you should see available devices > click your Highlander > also check BT Receiver to make sure it's selected in this location as well.

Thanks for your response but that process has been done numerous times with no luck.

I do appreciate your trying to get this fixed Tglls. We want to help as much as we can. Are all the other Bluetooth functions on your phone working? Are you able to make/receive calls with your Bluetooth connected with your car?

TGLLS,
That's perfect, thanks for confirming that for us. Vehicle Bluetooth connections are rather unique since we're unable to confirm compatibility of your phone and car Bluetooth past initial information found on the manufacturer's website http://toyota.us/2i7rAdA . Since all other functions are working, we recommend consulting Toyota or your local dealership to confirm if the text to speech option is available.

I have consulted with Toyota. My phone was compatible with the Entune system with the Android 6.0. Apparently when the system was updated with 7.0, a lot of things changed as to the compatibility with features that worked previously. It seems the upgrade wiped out features that worked perfectly. The upgrade has actually made things worse. With that said, is there any update from Android to make this feature work?

Once again, an OS update has broken something that didn't need fixing!
