IMEI BLACKLISTED IPHONE XR

Dinuka
Newbie

Hi,

I have been using an Iphone XR from 2019 onward and I bought it from Sri Lanka. I have a Dialog Connection from Sri Lanka. Last week I went to my network provider and requested to switch to E-SIM and it didnt work. Also with that my previous physical sim didnt work as well. When I checked it was mentioned that my Phone is  a “US RESELLER FLEX POLICY” device and it has been locked to the original sim. However Dialog confirms that they dont lock the devices as such because they dont have rights to do that in Sri Lanka. When I checked the IMEI it says the phone is Blacklisted by “Verizon Wireless”. Is there a solution for this? Now my phone is not usable at all even I entered a Dialog sim. I can share the IMEI number for reference.

Thank you!

Hello Dinuka. Our devices are automatically unlocked 60 days after purchase: https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy The only way we are able to modify a lock status is if the original owner reaches out directly to us. I'm afraid this is not an option if you bought the phone through a third party. The best option would be to try to contact the original owner. We hope this information helps.
