Interesting Upgrade Stats

This Computerworld article has some interesting statistics about Android upgrades. By their research Verizon has the best record for getting Froyo out to their customers, both in the number of different phones upgraded and the time required to get the upgrade out in the wild.

The really telling stat is on page 3...only one Samsung phone has the upgrade to Froyo. It seems our long and fruitless wait for Froyo may not be due to Verizon at all but quite likely is due to Samsung being unwilling to bother with support.

interesting rumor of tmobile holding back the Vibrant update in lieu of the Vibrant 4G

and looks like Samsung will be in the same boat as Sony Ericsson if they don't get over just trying to sell stuff with poor support

I'll add another interesting link to the list.. You know all those Class Action threads I keep making fun of? Well...

Filed a class action lawsuit against T-Mobile and Samsung

Someone actually GOT a lawyer for this one, and apparently they think this could grow legs. Verizon might want to take note: We have hardware docks that are currently pretty useless, and I doubt it would be too much of a stretch to file a separate suit against Verizon/Samsung for the exact same thing if this suit establishes any kind of precedent.

Note: I simply post this for educational purposes. I'm not going to pick up the banner for a class action lawsuit here, nor am I saying it's a waste of time. Just supplied a link and two sentences of analysis.
