Keep loosing my contacts after updating to vew software update version

Hi Last Friday that is on 5-14-2015 I have updated my software as I got notification for new software available. I think this is some sort of patch for lolipop. Today morning I realized that I lost my contacts. Some how I tried to restore from Verizon cloud as I have backed up earlier. Its restoring the contacts and with in half hour after restoring again I see my contacts list shows empty. I am not sure if this is from the software update or some thing else. Please let me know if any one of you encountered the same issue and how to fix this

i use gmail contacts & haven't had any problems with any of the updates.
