Missing photos from Samsung Gallery Note 8

After recent updates there's been acoupe of bugs and features chages that's taken place. I am about to take my issue face to face with an Verizon Wireless employee. 

Here is an issue I have run across. My photos missing from the Samsung Gallery, but I know is stored on my device. I have acouple of photos that I screen capture my photo issues.Version

storing photos on the phone is dangerous with all of the various clouds + sd cards.

i use gmail, yahoo, icloud + google drive.

Making sure that your digital content is safely backed up is of the utmost importance. I know, I would be equally concerned if I was missing photos from my phone gallery. Bearone21, you bring up a good point, storing photos on your phone without a back up may be dangerous. 

Tinkertron, I would like to gather some additional details to best assist. When did the issue first start? Which Android version are you running? What happens when you take a new photo (does it appear in the gallery)?
