Does anyone know if this app is charged an extra fee above the data plan?
I have had the app for more than a complete billng cycle on my Droid Incredible without any extra charges. However, recently I believe VZW will charge you the $10 V Cast Video subscription fee if you view a live game -- they were free during the pre-season. Yesterday I used it and pressed the Red Zone feature, which gives you live video of plays within the 20 yard line when a team is getting ready to score. I expected to be prompted for a fee, but nothing. Just gave me the video without any prompts.
From the VZW link about the NFL Mobile, comes this disclosure:
Message and data rates apply. Subject to Customer Agreement and Calling Plan. NFL Mobile includes news, scores, statistics and streaming audio with your data feature or plan. Video content included with your data plan or feature through 8/31. A $10 VCAST Video on Demand subscription is required to view video content.
I have not seen this subscription fee on my included features. I am wondering if VZW has delayed implementing this. Hoping someone else here can confirm or correct me.
i am not positive....but i think their intent was to just block the actuall thursday and saturday night games that nfl network gets. i'm REALLY hoping the continue to allow the rest of the video. it used to just play whatever was on the channel (including the games). i think they really just want to block the games. hopefully we'll still get the shows and redzone.
I watched the full game (Green Bay vs Dallas) this past Sunday thru NFL Mobile. I haven't figured out about the charges either. I would think and/or should send an e-mail about the charge, if there is one. I saw the $10 fee charge on the NFL Mobile website. Hopefully, no charge will happen. If that was a $10.00/monthly addition, no problem.
