Has anybody received the 4.4 kitkat update yet on their note 3 update? My friend who has a note 3 with tmobile has received it already.

I just got off the phone with Tech support for VZW and they didn't have any useful info for me other than suggesting I go to the local Best Buy store and visit the Samsung Experience shop to have them flash the new OS to my device. So, I called them up and the young lady asked me if I checked thru the phone and I stopped her right there. I told her I tried all of those steps and nothing is available. Then she tells me to come in and she can flash the OS on to my phone with some Software tool that they use. We'll see how that goes and I'll update here if I'm successful.

Well that was a waste of time but oh well. This dude almost sounded like Vzw support in saying that it's in the works and should be out within the month. I chuckled, yes chuckled, and nodded to him. You can come back and check with us anytime to see if anything new comes up. Thanks anyway......LMAO!!

Yes and afterwards asked if she'd ever "Flashed" a Vzw phone before and she replied no, this will be my first. She did seem confident but I'll take that with a grain of salt.

So I'm wondering...what type of discount you're willing to offer since there's no note 3 update.? I mean you're willing to tack on late fees if the bill isn't paid on time so as a consumer I think it's justifiable us Note 3 owners get some type of monthly discount being you Verizon Wireless can't own up to your end of the bargin..kitkat is coming up on being 4 months old and there's devices that are way older that have it...so like WTH Verizon? I'm usually pretty satisfied with you but this is beyond unacceptable..

Verizon has become a sad experiment in how much customers will put up with.  What happens if you combine great cell coverage with inept customer service people, high prices, and poor device support?

You are correct, If your phone works after a VZW update!  I did not notice a bit of difference after my update to the KitKat.  I would say from my reading around the site here though I have been one of the very lucky VZW customers though as many many customers are complaining their phone has completely failed or they are having many many issues with their phone.  Standard for VZW though.  You get and update and you don't notice any changes except when you check to see the version of Android on your phone.  You get an update and your phone is unusable or you can use your phone but you have these issues with some of the features of your phone.  I though can count my lucky stars I guess and thank VZW everyday that I have a usable phone until the next update.  Good Luck with the update on the Galaxy Note 3 when it is released.  Maybe your phone will work also when they are done with the update.

I know about the bloatware and crap but I wish someone could explain to me what exactly does Verizon think they are doing to make these updates so much better than everyone elses? Cuz when the are done contaminating it the phone works no different than if it were on Att or Tmobile. But for all the waiting around and torture the damn update should be 4.4.3 when it comes out. And please for the love of everything holy, if anyone replies to this I would much rather it be someone that understands and not one of those (removed) reps! SMDH......bless their hearts they always try to reply with a happy go lucky response. Hopefully Im speaking for the people who actually want the update when I say..aint a damn thing happy go lucky about this (removed)!

It's a shame that we have been waiting this long for this update. Verizon wireless has smacked and spit in our faces. Galaxy 3 users have already received this update on sprint! I've only been with verizon for about a year and this isn't a good way to keep and attract new customers. Shame on verizon for not releasing this update and the verizon reps have there heads up there butts and keep referring us to a stupid link! What good are you reps if you can't awnser our questions?? Just shut up and don't say anything since your not educated enough to see and read our questions! When will we get kitkat? Give us a date or a estimated date or shut your mouth!

Well, I think I have been pretty patient waiting for this update to arrive. I have bit my tongue and just continued to check the web for any kind of information. I just don't understand why VZW can't take a moment to say "Hey, we're testing it and have a tentaive release date of ???". Instead, giving the end users/customers the silent treatment only infurriates everyone. I currently have 4 phones on my account, and to be honest I have been looking to switch to AT&T. The customer service at VZW has been horrible, and to always be months late to update their phones only makes matters works. Oh, lest us not forget the higher prices! This is the end of my rant, just be aware you are close to losing 4 more lines of service if this isn't released soon.

Thing is, they had plenty of ample time of what should have been a testing phase by now. More than enough time. It has been a very painful wait to say the least. There's no excuse for it.

Well, I got tired of waiting and found a leaked copy of KitKat for the note 3 on XDA Developers. Works great, only sad part is I had to take matters into my own hands to get the update.
