Need Help!

I just downloaded the latest Jelly Bean on my Nexus. On my keyboard, my voice to text is not showing up anywhere. I have checked the keyboard options and Text-to-speech options, however my Mic still does not come up on the keyboard. Does anyone have any suggestions to this??

Wow! That is a great feature that I know you wouldn't want to loose! I use mine all the time so I understand how vital it is! Let's get it working!

First off, have you tried to power the device off and pull out the battery? When it comes back on, can you also check your connection to Google? Voice to text requires a good data connection to translate what you say into text and I want to make sure that you are in a good location with good signal when you are trying to use it. Are you able to get your Gmail or get on the Play Store? Those are great ways to make sure you are connected to Google.

Also, is this just happening in texts? Can you use the microphone button while in the browser or in the Maps application? Let's also try and reset the Messaging application (http://bit.ly/Rqjs3l) and retest. Don't worry! It won't clear your texts, just the notification sound and any settings changes in the app.

Can we please try this and get back to us with the results? Thanks!

Hello, I have tried all you suggested and it still isn't working. I can get

gmail and google play fine. However, let me ask this. I took the Google

search bar off the home page. Could that be the problem and how do I put it

back on? I use this all the time and feel so lost without it. I tried

several apps that use the keyboard and it won't come up on any. Thanks for

any suggestions.

i'm not sure how to resolve the question, but I recently installed a keyboard replacement called "Jelly Bean" by johntanmi and it's fantastic.. better than the stock one for sure.. check it out in the Play Market: http://goo.gl/kYFOA

Thanks you so much for completing the troubleshooting steps we suggested. Since we have completed all the previous troubleshooting steps and we are still not able to get the issue resolve, our next and final step would be to complete a master reset. Please make sure you backup all your data before you complete the master reset. http://bit.ly/swCYZF. After you have completed the master reset, try sending yourself a text message using the text to speech feature. Let us know how this works out for you.
