Hello. I have a Samsung Galaxy s10. I am not receiving any voicemail notifications. I have tried everything I've searched on what to do. I am at a complete loss. I had 3 voicemails that I never got a notification for. The only reason I knew I had them was because a friend called and when I called him back, he said he left me one, but never got anything showing that I had any.

I have checked everything in this thread including force stopping and clearing the cache. All notifications turned and I receive them and get the badge for all if them. Notification sound set which works with all of the other apps. Does not even register on the pull down nor does it indicate anywhere I had a missed call. Please advise. Galaxy 10 5G.

We understand the importance of receiving all of your notifications. Please follow these steps to turn the indicator off, and then back on.
Enter *86 on your phone and Select Send > From the Main Menu, Select 4 for Personal Options > Select 1 for Message Waiting Indicator On/Off.
After you've toggled this setting, have someone call and leave a voicemail. Let us know your results.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, Select 1 for Message Waiting Indicator On/Off is not a valid option. I toggled on and off all of the other options available in the personal settings and it had no effect.

Barthman, we're truly sorry to learn these steps did not work for you. Let's start from the top. Are you looking for notification of missed calls? Or voicemail alerts? Which level of voicemail are you currently subscribed to https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/voice-mail-comparison/?

Thanks, Barthman. What actually happens when you reach Personal Options? What options do you see when following these steps: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-21683/ EricW_VZW

I am able to get the main menu without a problem, when I press 4, personal options, I am only given the choice of 2, 3, or 4.

Barthman, we are not giving up hope. Have you attempted to Power Up your device in Safe Mode and try to access the Voicemail? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-222977/ Have you attempted to sign up for the free Visual Voicemail and set that up to see if you can get the indicator on your phone that way?
Can you try steps for us regarding the missed call notification:
-Go to Apps
-Tap Settings
-Tap Notifications
-Scroll through apps until you find your Phone app, tap Phone app
-Tap Missed calls
-Set what kind of notification you want or toggle, so all grey to disable
What is the outcome?

So, I am sure you will find this interesting. First, I have Visual Voicemail and the notifications are set correctly, I even cleaned the cache thinking that would help.
So, as recommended I started up in safe mode and viola the badge notifications were there. So I deleted a bunch of apps both new ones and ones I never use. Boot back up in regular mode, nothing - notifications still missing. Even enabled pop up to see if that would work. Went back to safe mode, gone - the badge notifications for the phone and voicemails that were there the first time I used it was gone.
Soooooo, what do you think?

Thank you for keeping us updated on your results, Barthman. When restarting your phone in Safe Mode, it does disable all third-party applications. Since the issue didn't occur in Safe Mode, the issue could be with another application or the software. You mentioned, you did delete a bunch of apps. Did you try deleting other third-party apps on your phone? Is the software fully up-to-date?

Yes, my software is up to date.
I apologize for not being more clear. The first time I used Safe Mode, the problem was solved.
I Deleted several third party apps, restating several times, this.did not solve the problem.
I restarteded in Safe Mode again, but this time the problem persisted.
I have restarted in Safe Mode several times since and the problem persists still in .

Thank you, Barthman. Were the third party apps you deleted voicemail applications?

No, I only have the one Voicemail application. I deleted several older applications that I haven't used in awhile, plus a few I used frequently - Life360, Family Tree, Hello Fresh, and Ancestry DNA

I appreciate all these efforts and shared information as we learn more to find a way to the solution, Barthman. Let try a refreshed approach. Please try these steps:
1. Go to Settings. Go to Notifications. Select "Advanced" in the upper right corner.
2. Find the voicemail app and select it.
3. First, make sure "App icon badges" are turned "on".
4. You should see the word "Categories". Underneath that, you should see "General Notifications" and "Voicemails". These represent the different notification channels within the voicemail app, and you need to make sure you have the settings right in both of them. So, do the following for both "General Notifications" and "Voicemails".
5. After selecting each, make sure the toggle is set to "on". Then, select "Importance" and set it to "High" Then, under "Advanced", set app icon badges to "on".
It can sound difficult, but follow the above steps; you may see all the different things to set the exact right way to get your voicemail notifications. Please share your results with us so we can help more if this does not resolve the issue.

Thank you for responding.
Unfortunately there is no "Advanced" in the upper right corner of the Notification tab.
I scrolled down and found the Voicemail app.
The App Icon Badge is turned on.
General Notifications: Alert, Show as Pop up, Sound, Vibrate, and Icon Badge are all enabled. Lock screen indicates - show content.
Voicemail: Alert, Show as Pop up, Sound, Vibrate, and Icon Badge are all enabled. Lock screen indicates - show content.
There are no "Importance" or "Advanced" settings.
I had checked all of these settings prior to contacting you folks.
What do you suggest?

Thank you for those details, Barthman. I know you mentioned your device being up to date. Did this start to occur after a recent software update? Did the voicemail application recently update? Try clearing the cookies and cache from the phone app and then retest. JoeyM_VZW

Thank you for your reply, I cleared the cache, reset the data, force stopped it, turned the phone off, waited a minute, turned the phone back on, had a friend call me, and nothing. I don't know when it started, I think in February sometime, I just happened to open my Voicemail and saw a month or so worth of missed messages. I then thought I should check the phone and saw a bunch of missed calls I didn't know about. I know the phone has updated since then, I was hoping it would fix it.

I know this has been a challenge for some time now, Barthman. Have you tried a factory reset of your phone yet? If not, you'll want to make sure that your phone is backed up and turn off Automatic App Restore. Here's how to turn off Automatic App Restore: http://spr.ly/660110okl
Here's how to factory reset the phone: http://spr.ly/660310okW If you need help with how to backup the phone, see the "Media" section referenced in that article. Let us know your findings after doing this.

won't this lose all my setting and I will have to spend a month of Sunday's reloading all the apps that back up does not reload as when I bought the phone and lost more than half of my data when Verizon did the transfer?

Besides the problem persists while in Safe Mode when all third party apps are turned. Please do me a favor and actually read the entire thread before responding or am I just wasting my time?
