Hello. I have a Samsung Galaxy s10. I am not receiving any voicemail notifications. I have tried everything I've searched on what to do. I am at a complete loss. I had 3 voicemails that I never got a notification for. The only reason I knew I had them was because a friend called and when I called him back, he said he left me one, but never got anything showing that I had any.

Krismc36, it is important to receive notifications to ensure you do not miss any important messages. We are here to work toward a resolution. Klue and bearone21 provided some helpful tips. We would like to gather more information. How are other services on the phone working? When did this problem start? Do you use the Visual Voicemail app or do you call *86 to check your messages?

Other notifications work fine. I use regular, basic vm. I have not received notifications for a long time now.

I'm also having this problem. It seems the option to display a voicemail notice has been blocked by Verizon. Not sure why, but this should not take hours of valuable personal time to fix. When our contract is up, we'll look at other providers.

I have the same question. Even though I turned on 'call setting> volicemail setting', it hasn't been working at all. Some discussion below back in 2017 said 'block visual voicemail', and 'block premium visual voicemail'. However, my account allows only 'block premium visual voicemail' though. That seems my voicemail setting at verizonwireless end enforce me to have basic visual voicemail option.
Anyway, I do want to get voicemail notification right away. Please help me!!!

Thank you for those details. Getting notified is important, and we are here to assist you. Does this happen with every voicemail from any caller or a specific caller? Also, are you showing any notification at all such as a visual notice on the top of your screen? — Albert

ChadRhynard,
Being without notifications for your voicemail is certainly inconvenient, and I'd never want you to miss an important voicemail. Let's get this addressed ASAP. Using this link as a guide (http://spr.ly/66091OHcd), what kind of voicemail do you currently use? When did this issue begin (ever since using the device, since software update, etc.)?
Also, to ensure we're on the same page, please check your settings against the instructions here (http://spr.ly/66001OHce), and let us know what difference you see after taking these steps. We'll be standing by to assist further as needed.

Hi Ryan, thanks. So I wasn't aware there was a visual voicemail option as I was using the regular voicemail function. I can't be sure when it started until I found out as many do from someone trying to call and told me they left messages. I had messages clear back to mid-October timeframe. I don't know if this was the result of a software update or what.
Regardless, I decided to check out what the visual voicemail was all about and got that set up. It now gives me notifications. So it looks like my problem was resolved in a roundabout way. Thanks!

gmherron,
We can relate to how important it is that you receive your notifications. We want to be sure that we are on the same page. What steps are you taking to check your messages? If you are utilizing an application to access your messages, which one?

I have the same issue with my s10. I use basic voicemail and don't want to use visual voicemail. The problem seemed to start after the most recent system update on the phone. I used to get notifications just fine. Now nothing. I have searched forums online and none of the fixes work for me. I have checked all of the notification settings and everything works.
In the settings under phone, the toggle button for voicemail and phone are grayed out. I can't turn them on.

Sorry to hear about the issues with receiving voicemail notifications on your Samsung Galaxy S10, wt8. I know how useful this function is and we're happy to help get to the bottom of this. Do you have your mobile data turned on? Here's how to check: http://spr.ly/66021jts6 I know you mentioned that you don't use visual voicemail but is it set up within the app? If not, please make sure that it is set up.

So I've had the same issue since I bought the phone back in November. Like the Community representatives have stated, you need to have the phone "set up" with the Voicemail app. Let me be clear with the steps that solved my issue. Hopefully this helps others.
Go to the Voicemail app on you phone, this should be a red icon with the universal voicemail icon (looks like a tape deck)
If you've not opened this app, as I had not, the app takes a minute to load up your account. If you've not set up the app, you'll have to accept the TOS, simply click "accept" on the screen. Once again, check that notifications are set up by going to Settings > Notifications and looking for Voicemail, and make sure you don't have them disabled.
After doing all of this, my voicemail notifications showed up. I have not interest in using visual voicemail, but in order to get notifications, you MUST at the very least go through the initial setup of accepting TOS.
Again, hope this helps.

Setting up the visual voicemail app fixes the problem no thanks to Verizon's customer service asking if I had my data turned on LOL. Just to clarify, you need to turn on notifications for voicemails within the voicemail app itself. There is also a voicemail notification through the phone app which I also have turned on. So 2 different apps have voicemail notification options.

PowerJoe,
I'm still a big fan of Voicemail and without my notifications, I'd never check them! So, I'd be reaching out as well if I were in your shoes. I'm happy to hear you are up and running now, although it's sad that we weren't as much help as we should have been during the troubleshooting process. We're always available here on our community forum, as well as some excellent community members with fantastic advice on fixing many issues and concerns. As a reference, here is a link to many common questions and answers regarding Voicemail, specifically the Voicemail application (http://spr.ly/6602GwTWO). Let us know how this all works for you and if there are any other questions for us. Take care and enjoy your weekend!
