Not getting emergency alerts

My whole family is on Verizon. We each have different phones....a Droid Ultra, Samsung Note 5, LG k20 v, and mine is a Samsung galaxy s7.  Mine is the only one that never gets emergency alerts, even if we are all sitting in the same room.  I have all the settings set properly (I've checked every time all the alerts come in and I get nothing) but I still don't get anything.  I am concerned that I won't be around my family when there's an emergency and I won't get the notification.

Are you sure you have all the emergency alert notifications  turned on?

Yes, I've gone to settings, privacy and emergency, emergency alerts, then settings, alert types, all are switched on and red except presidential alerts which says its mandatory and always on. . It's also set to alert with an emergency tone, vibrate, and alert remind once.

Did this just start?  Was it after an OS update?  If it was, then that's likely the problem.  Gee, another issue created by a system update.  Imagine that.

No, I noticed it for the first time in April when my husband got an alert and I didn't. That's only when I first noticed it though... I don't think I've ever received an alert on this phone and I've had it for a little over a year.

If you go to settings-privacy and emergency -emergency alerts it will tell you in there what type of alert and the date of the alert if you got any. I really hope you get an answer on this cause I know how important these alerts are

It says "no emergency alerts" there.

Is the 'easy mode' enabled in the settings on the device that's not getting the alerts?

No it is not

You can see the alert when you go into alerts?  I don't even get that much!

I am having the same problem. I live in tornado alley and did not get half the warnings that were sent out. There was another post on here awhile back where people were having this problem and to my knowledge it was never answered. I have a S7 edge but I think this problem wasn't just common for these phones. I have checked and rechecked my settings and I have them set the way they are suppose to be to get these warnings

kathy65793, we always want to keep you informed of any emergencies that may be heading your way. In review of the Galaxy S7 Edge, there are no known issues related to the emergency alerts. We definitely want to keep working on this for you to make sure that you're safe and sound. Can you please check these settings: http://vz.to/2evMcyx and let us know what you have listed? We would also like to confirm the current software version that you're running. You can find this by going into Settings > About Phone > Build Number. Last, but not least, can you tell us the zip code where you're currently located? We want to review any outstanding issues for this area.

As a Gold contributor, I don't think kathy65793 needs any instruction on how to check her emergency notification settings.

You took the thoughts straight from my brain when I read this thread.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I assume you meant for me to answer this.

All settings are correct.  All three alerts are switched on and red, as well as notification sound, vibration and an alert reminder once.

My build number is NRD90M.G930VVRS4BQH1

My zip code is 80504.

Oh and I have the standard S7 not the edge, if that makes any difference.

I have the same build number that Laineybug24 has but we just had this update the last week of august so there has not been any tornado warnings since this update for my area. My zip is 65793. I have had this problem with alerts since I got this phone and had seen on here where there was several others that have had the same problem. Not sure if it was in the s7 s7 edge discussions or the android discussions but I have never seen on here where this was solved. Someone from support had asked me just about the same questions that you have  and asked the same for people that were having this problem but I don't think there was any follow up to when we answered their questions . It is weird however since we have a old s5 with no service but it gets the alerts. That is how I knew that the s7 edge wasn't getting them.  I hope that you are able to get Laineybug24 and any other people that are having this problem answers to why this is happening.

For the record I have check and rechecked all the settings for this problem

Clearly this is happening to alot of people, myself included.  I started noticing a week ago that everyone around me was getting alerts and I didn't.  Has happened at least four times this week.  Give us some creidt for knowing how to check our settings and provide a real solution.

Has anything been done about this?  My S7 edge stopped getting alerts sometime after June 2017.  We just had a tornado warning and, if I wasn't with my husband at the time I wouldn't have known.

Something needs to be done!  Or offer me a free phone replacement.

All my settings have been checked and re-checked and my volume is up.  I even did the latest software update today prior to the alert.

Why have you waited this long with this situation?  Has VZW offered to replace the phone or at least try to determine what is wrong with it?
