Not getting voicemail notifications.

I am on wifi most of the day at work.  People tell me they leave voicemail, but they don't show up on my phone.  Is there anyway to receive notifications on wifi?

Receiving your messages is always paramount. As long as Cellular Data is also enabled when Wi-Fi is turned on, Voicemails should still be delivered successfully, but do require cellular to be turned on.

For a few months, I've not been getting my voicemail notifications after a Verizon update.  I do not get a notification in my notification list, in my phone app, it no longer shows a voicemail was left.  Unless I dial *86, I am completely unaware a voicemail was left.

Like everyone I've had many continual life issues that prevents me from consistently trying to fix this.  I've tried a number of times via phone, online chat with Verizon,  Verizon's Twitter page, etc.

I continually re-check all the steps given.  Making sure everything is toggled on.  Toggling things on and off.  Making sure nothing is turned off or blocked, etc.  It doesn't matter if I'm using Wifi or Data.  I still do not get any notifications.

I did speak with Heather from Verizon on Twitter Messenger on March 9, 2023 who had me click on a link that took me to another Verizon page  and gave me some suggestions.  That actually worked for five days and then it stopped.  I assumed that would fix the problem, so I didn't write it down.  I then went into Twitter Messenger to open that link again, thinking I would be able to see my past conversation; but, the link no-longer worked so I couldn't see what was said.  I've asked other Verizon representatives if they could pull up the conversation so I could record what she said.  They have not been able to find what Heather shared with me.

I know she gave me steps to do that no-one else had suggested.  She did say to me  she has had a number of people with this issue and while these items should have no affect on voicemail, for some reason, doing these steps works.

Does anyone know what those steps were or are aware of another fix?

Thank you for any help you can give.

I'm sorry you've been having trouble trying to keep your voicemail notifications active. Based on my research you want to check your settings related to 'battery' for voicemail. The path to follow is the following.

Settings → Apps → Voicemail → Battery → Select Unrestricted.

This will ensure your voicemail app can run and receive notifications. Please check this, and additionally make sure you do have the latest software update to your device (latest release was SU33 on 4/28/23).

Hi John,

Thank you for your reply.  I followed your steps and checked.  I do have the battery set to "unrestricted" and I do have the latest software update.

Are there any other steps I can try?

Thank you and take care.

Thank you for trying those steps. This is a known issue and it's currently being worked on by both Verizon and Samsung, however, we don't have an ETA at the moment. Another troubleshooting step we can try is disabling and re-enabling the Voicemail app. This link has the steps for disabling/uninstalling apps: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-remove-or-disable-embedded-apps/ To re-enable or re-install, please search the app in the app store.

Thank you Jesse.  I had already tried that; but, it didn't work.

Is there a way I can be put on an e-mail or text list that when a solution is found - I can be notified of it and the necessary steps to take?

Take care and I hope you have a great day.
