Ever since the last update my Note 4 is overheating really badly and has a horrific battery life. It drains almost entirely within a few hours. I shut off Wifi and location and the phone stops overheating and my battery life is accetable. This all started after the update to Marshmallow that took forever to be released because you wanted to make sure it was thoroughly tested. You wanted to make sure it was perfected. I don't understand why you take forever to release an update that is far from perfect. Either release it quickly with its flaws or wait and make sure there are no errors. Sorry for the sidetrack. Back to this issue I'm having, I think it is ridiculous that I have to keep the Wifi and location off to prevent these issues. I bought the phone so I can use these features. Now I have to turn on and off these features to manage my battery life and the overheating issue I'm having. Please send out another update to fix these issues. It is evident that there are a lot of people with the same issue. Just at looking at this forum, there are loads of people posting that they're having these same problems. Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.
We understand how much we rely on our devices. We want you to have a reliable phone and are here to help. How long ago was the update performed? It can take 48 hours to normalize the battery and system. Were there any errors when you performed the update? Can you tell us how long your battery is lasting?BobbyN_VZW

I appreciate you getting back to me. I updated the phone back at the end of June, so it has been a lot longer then 48 hours. There were no errors when the update occurred. Depending how often I use the phone, it will last anywhere from 2-4 hours. Sometimes if I shut off Wifi and location, I may get a little longer use. The overheating is also bothersome. As a matter of fact, just today it was overheating so bad and I had Wifi and Location shut off and when I looked at the phone I notice that there was only 23% battery left. It was full about an hour and half before that. I had to shut off the phone for awhile and also charge it again. It stopped overheating, but the battery was still bad.
I hope you can help me with this issue,

Thank you for the clarification, Scott. It is certainly concerning to hear that you are experiencing issues like these. Besides turning of locator or WiFi, have you tried any other troubleshooting steps to attempt to resolve this issue? I want to make sure that we avoid performing any steps that you might have already tried in getting this issue resolved.

I've tried everything. It has a mind of it's own. Highly disappointing. Love the features of Marshmallow, but I think the phone was a much better phone on Kit Kat. Actually a phenomenal phone on Kit Kat. It really discourages you to upgrade. I almost feel like whatever phone comes out with Nougat will work great until Android O come out. Then you need to wait forever to get the update. You'll update and then it won't work so you'll need to buy a new phone, which is obviously ridiculous. I don't mind upgrading to a new phone eventually, if I want the newer technology. However, I shouldn't have to and this is frustrating.
I have been very patient in waiting for a response for help. I haven't heard anything more for about a month. I thought it was great that 2 different customer service reps were trying to help me. Now, I haven't heard from anyone. I normally get great customer service from Verizon. What is going on? Are you just worried about your buyouts? Am I just out of luck? The note 7 is coming out now. Is that phone overheating? Does that phone's battery hold a charge? I really didn't want to buy a new phone yet. I am especially nervous because the new note 7 doesn't even have a removable battery. What if I have the same problem I have with the note 4? I can't at least just try changing the battery. I also still have a couple of payments to make and need to turn my note 4 in to even be able to buy the note 7. It's also a lot more money per month and I have no guarantees that I won't have the same problems as I am having with my note 4. I would greatly prefer some help to fix my note 4 to the way it was when I first got it a little less than just a year and a half ago. I still can't believe that it didn't last longer. PLEASE HELP ME! (and others). It seems (based on other comment) that I'm not the only one having these problems. The only relief that works sometimes is the fact that I shut off the wifi and location, like I said before. However, I really don't want to shut those things off. I bought the phone so I could use those features. Unfortunately, it only helps rarely. I hope someone from customer service will get back to me with something new that I can try to help fix my issue, Thanks in advance.
