I pre-ordered the Note 7 three days after it became available for pre-order. The ship date still says August 19th. What is the point in pre-ordering if the stores are going to have the phone before I get it delivered? The S7 shipped a week before it made it to the stores. Is Verizon at least going to ship before 8/19/16 so that we at least get it the same day the stores do?

I ordered on 8/3/16. I received text this morning ( 8/14/16) that it's on its way with tracking number. Fedex says picked up from West Chester, PA and scheduled delivery 8/18/16. Not sure why it's taking from Sunday to Thursday but glad I'm getting it before 8/19/16.

I'm in IL also and my phone is also sitting in PA. I just got off the phone with FedEx because I wondered how it would be possible to receive my phone tomorrow when it's sitting at a standstill on the east coast. The guy at FedEx assured me that according to his tracking info, my phone was on a plane headed towards me and that he doesn't know why the tracking info isn't updating. He then told me that there is a delay on my package, but that it's only a 22 minute delay and that I will receive it tomorrow evening by 8:00. However, if I don't receive it, please call back and let them know. GRRRRR!!! So, basically, it's a 50/50 chance on whether I'll get my phone on time or not. This preorder has been the most frustrating thing to deal with! I don't know that I'll ever preorder from Verizon again.

I ordered my phone the morning of Aug 3rd. Just got a text message from Verizon saying my they received my order #xxxxx (a number I did not recognize, it did not match the original order number) on Aug 14th and I will be notified of tracking info when it ships. I also check my credit card and it billed today (it had not billed three hours ago).

My Note 7 is sitting at the FedEx shipping Center 3 blocks from my home. I verified this with FedEx however they have stated that Verizon has a contract with them and they are not allowed to turn the items over. So although I have purchased a ridiculously expensive phone and Verizon has already been paid for it, they are refusing to let customers take possession until they say so. This will be my last device with Verizon.

My husband's phone was delivered today to our home. So I'm thinking that the "not allowed to turn the phones over" line is not true

Actually it is likely to be true but sometimes mistakes happen. The shipping process is not foolproof.
