Note 8 is not receiving all text messages

For about a month (roughly starting October 4th), my phone has not been receiving some text messages. I can send messages fine, send and receive calls fine, but some messages never get delivered to my phone. I would say 1 in 10 are missing. When I log onto the MyVerizon site that lets you use Verizon Messages in the web browser, I can see all the missing text messages, but they never arrived to my phone! When looking at a friend's phone, the message says "Delivered" or "Sent". I have not recently switched from an iPhone or anything. The issue occurs in both Samsung Messages, Google Messenger, and Verizon Messages+ (even though I do not use this). This is a bad problem to have, as I have missed events, responsibilities, and general communication with loved ones, and had no idea.

I would appreciate an actual response to my issue. I am glad others are finding help on my thread, but troubleshooting the issue with 6 different people at the same time is hardly efficient. How about some actual -help instead of these cookie cutter responses? This is an ever-increasing time-sensitive issue, as I am missing messages every single day.

I agree... I only added my information to help troubleshoot the problem as a whole. Asking us all for the same details isn't going to solve the problem. There is obviously something going on. What can Verizon do to fix this?
And no, the messages do not show in any message app.

noahtomas03 - you are not alone with this problem and neither are customers on other networks. I have missed two MMS messages on my Note 8 in the last week. Never had this problem with my previous Samsung Galaxy products. Customers on other networks are complaining of this issue so I suspect that it is a problem with the Note 8.

I have this same exact issue, with very negative personal consequences. Yesterday, it occurred three times. Two of which I was able correct by having the verification code resent. The third was personal and not recoverable. please fix this.

I've been having this issue with my girlfriend for as long as I can remember. The reason I am posting this is because it just happened, yet again. It happens at least 3-5 times a day. And sometimes, it happens during critical moments and can create tension... I also have wifi calling turned on so they come through wifi as well, but that doesn't always help. When I feel like I should've received a message by "now," I open Messages+ (which is wifi/data based) and whatta ya know... there's the text that never got sent over cellular. This isn't specific to Android as it has happened to my iPhone 7+ and now my iPhone X.

AidsMcGhee, we understand how important it is to get your messages right away. What signal is your phone getting from us? Is this happening with all your messages are just ones from certain contacts?

My phone is always 4 bars and always on LTE. And I am also usually on wifi. And my other contacts have an iPhone so it's usually iMessage. But it happened again last night expecting a text saying they made it home ok, and I woke up at 3am wondering if they were even alive. I checked Messages+ app and it wasn't there.

AidsMcGhee, thanks for sharing those important details. We would never want you to miss out on any important messages. Weโre going to do everything we can to help get this fixed. For starters, weโd like to clarify some key details based on your recent messages.
Youโve mentioned that youโve had this issues with other devices and youโre currently using an iPhone X. Are you using the original messaging app to communicate via iMessage with your other contacts? If so, have you experienced any issues with sending or receiving iMessages?
When did you originally start to experience this issue with Messages+? Is there anyone else besides your girlfriend that you use Messages+ with? Does your girlfriend use the Messages+ app on her phone as well?

I use the stock messages app that comes with iOS.
iMessages always work.
Using the stock messages app (on iOS), my texts (SMS, not iMessage) always send. But sometimes they don't get delivered to her.
Using her stock messages app (on Android), her texts (SMS, not iMessage) always send. But sometimes they don't get delivered to me.
I use Verizon's Message+ app to ONLY CHECK for texts that didn't get delivered to either of us. But Message+ doesn't always show every text that has been sent or delivered

AidsMcGhee, thanks so much for this information as it does help. I know your initial response to us was regarding text messages that don't always come through from your girlfriend. Does this issue happen with anyone else? What are you experiencing with the other functions of your device, i.e. calls and data?

Like I said, everyone else I know has an iPhone so we use iMessage. Phone calls and data are usually perfect. The messages don't always get delivered on her end either.

I am having this exact SAME problem! I have been to the Verizon store 4 times in the last month. They have replaced my SIM card, wiped my cache, gone in and changed settings through the tech coach help app, and still nothing. I have a Galaxy S8+ and I use the Google Messenger app. I'm really glad to know this isn't an isolated problem, but I am growing more and more frustrated, as I now have to communicate with people through Snapchat/Facebook Messenger. This is the only way I can ensure I get their replies. Please help me!

Crains1216, being able to message on your device is important. We don't want you feeling this way. Help is here. Describe exactly what is happening. What patterns have you noticed? Are you only having troubles with Google Messenger?

So my problem is exactly how the others describe it. I went into my
Messages Plus app and I have almost 200 messages that I didn't receive.
Just like the others, they work perfectly in the Verizon message app but I
prefer Google Messenger. I also noticed that every message I didn't receive
in Google Messenger shows as being sent twice on Message+.
What can I do to make sure 100% of my messages come to Google and I can
make that my default again?

Why did you stop responding Verizon? My problem still hasn't been fixed and I've been forced to use the Message+ app to make sure I get all of my texts.

Crains1216,
Text messages are a great way to stay in touch with others, and it's great to hear that you do receive them all when using Message+. Your phone would come with a stock SMS application, and Verizon Messages (Message+), both of which are made to be fully compatible with your device. If you are having issues with a downloaded application, such as Google Messenger, then you would need to reach out to the developer via the Play Store for further assistance with it as we do not provide support for 3rd party applications: http://vz.to/2lhDAsy
